We love this school - everyone from the principal and assistant principal to the teachers and all other staff members work as a team to provide a great learning environment for kids. We love the way they celebrate kids with things like positive referrals and pep rallies and all the award shows. It is an A School. This school is the talk of the community! Go Spruce Creek Elementary Bobcats!!!!!!

As a military family, my kids have attended schools across the county. This is by far the worst school that they have attended. There is very little communication on all levels, the teachers seem mostly concerned with how their test scores reflect on them instead of building a community of learning and respect, and this toxic environment is cultivated from the top by the leadership where things are routinely shoved under the carpet in order for them to save face. There are much better options for elementary schools in east volusia county, and I strongly urge you to make a different educational choice for your child.

We are in our second year at SPES, and we could not be happier! We have had wonderful learning experiences for the past two years. The teachers and leadership really put their hearts into everything they do for the kids at the school. Plus the PTA does a lot of school events for the students throughout the year. We are proud to be Bobcats!!

No. This school has caused my son to go to therapy and won't tell me what happened. They blame my son and say he wasn't provoked but can't explain how he got bruises and defensive marks.

I don't feel this school is as helpful as other elementary schools. When you call the front office for info .. They really don't have answers . They tell you to email the teacher for your answer. Emailing the teacher doesn't always help when you don't get a respond. School system is behind on curriculum. For 2nd Grade the math was ( 1+1= , 2+2= ) all the way to number 10. Stuff that was taught in kindergarten. For my child to relearn what he knows already was very unacceptable. They don't challenge the students and are ok with certain test scores. I could go on about things I've experienced in short time but I would not recommend this school to anyone who wants their child to exceed.

We have new administration this year and oh can you tell!! They are amazing!! My daughter has been going here since last year and both classes that she has had the teachers were amazing!! Ms. Weslar and Mrs. Weinwrech Co teach their kindergarten classes and they are amazing!!!!!! My daughter truly has excelled this year and I know it is partly because of the way they help her prepare! This year we have Ms. Bowers. Again I can not say anough good about her. She is an amazing teacher and she truly loves hers kids!! I would recommend this school to anyone who asked! I love that my daughter gets up every morning excited to go to school!!!

My children attend Spruce Creek EL. I have found the entire staff, Administration and Teachers, supportive and attentive. The school family is interested in the success and well being of all the students. Our family has been apart of the school for 7 years, we appreciate the quality of the teachers and leadership of the administration.

Principal and assistant Principal found out by a parent that six children one being my own were playing the choking game. When theses children were questioned, they stated "most of the fourth and fifth grade does it" The Principal or Vice Principal didn't think it warranted a phone call to the six parents to make them aware of their children's activities. The phone calls took place four and one half days later after it was reported to the Superintendent. Shame on you.
