I went here one year in 2021/2022. The kids were rude, toxic, and unaccepting and from what I’ve heard from students who still go there they still are. When I went there, there were always fights and many kids harassed others while the teachers nor the kids did anything about it. The staff was terrible and the teachers didn’t do anything about the bullying going on in their classrooms but the academic parts weren’t that bad. If you reported anything to the office they didn’t do anything about it or if they did the student who got in trouble still continued their bad behavior.

worst school ever not recommend, 1 they do nothing about bullying 2, they keep restricting games including COOL MATH GAME!!!!! like wth 3, teachers bully students if you ask a teacher they'll probably say they make fun of kids and 4. every one lacks kindness including teachers.hope it gets shut down make sure that your kid doesn't go there no matter what.

This school sucks almost every day there is a fight I broke a bone falling of the bleachers also many of the kids vape smoke and bully there are like 4 kids there without any referrals detentions or suspensions overall 0/10 school DONT GO HERE IT WILL RUIN YOUR KIDS

Bully me not!!! This school is full of bullying and vapes… when are they going to do something about it? 3 of the 7 teachers my son has don’t care it even happens in class.. I’ve witness lots of parents pull their kids out for bullying as well…. This school needs a super attendant to step in…. Come on Volusia county what’s going on? You can make all the reports you want and talk to all the administrators you want it doesn’t stop and they don’t do nothing about it. Horrible school… when my daughter went there 6 years ago it was the best school matter fact it was an A school, now it’s ratings I’m sure have dropped tremendously… I give them an F. Do not bring your kids here you will be very disappointed.

Hi there, not a parent, but a student who is currently going to silver sands who is very concerned. Ever sense ive been going there ive been bullied for how i dress and for not liking to talk to people. I get called a school shooter and a drug dealer because i am the quiet kid who just so happens to be more on the "emo" side. (I have messy black hair and usually wear skinny jeans, a hoodie, and eyeliner every day so i guess they have a point on the emo thing.) And the teachers dont stop any of this from happening. In fact, most of the teachers join in on it. Ive walked in the halls before and had teachers yell "oh no here comes the emos" or "the my chemical romance reunion is the other way" at me just because of how i dress. Nobody would ever say that to anybody outside of the school system, but its somehow acceptable in school. Ive also had teachers lower my grades because they dont like me and have videos, screenshots, and graded papers to prove it. I was also once jumped by 7 people at P.E and was kicked in the head, told to go kill myself, and got my headphones stolen and thrown over the fence. The staff did nothing. They also dresscode you over everything. One time i got dresscoded for a zip up jacket that had the Misfits skull on it. No blood, no guns, no gang symbols, just the skull and the Misfits logo. Apparently skulls are too violent even though a kid came to school with a sweater with guns and a devil holding up the middle finger, and thats fine. And i was told that i have t role my jacket sleeves up all the time because the staff was convinced that because i listen to "emo" music and dress "emo" that i cut myself. Nobody else had to do this. Just me. I also got in trouble for wearing skeleton fingerless gloves for the same reason. Once again, you wouldnt do or say this to anybody outside lf school, so why is it okay in school? Why is fights acceptable only in school? The only other place where you see fights like the ones here is in prison. They treat us like we are in prison. And whenever i tried to do anything about the bullying, i got told that theres nothing they can do because of how many people who where bullying me. Please do not send your kid to this school. For their safety ad their mentality. I have to go to therapy now because of the disgusting people at this school. No wonder i dont like talking to them. This school is terrible and needs to change.

wonderful school for academics but faculty dosent worry about the students being bullied, threatened, or fighting, but have buckled down on dress code violations instead of the real problems.

My son attended grades 6-8 and just finished. He has special needs but attended regular classes. We were very apprehensive about middle school since there are so many horror stories about bullying. However, my son had a wonderful experience there and had no problems with bullying. The other kids are generally very supportive and accepting of him, which is the exact opposite of what your hear about middle schoolers. At the eighth grade celebration night my wife and I were very touched when he got some of the loudest applause of any of the kids. There are some teachers who are difficult to deal with and are unresponsive to emails, etc.. However there are many others who really go out of their way to help your child get the best education possible. My wife and I and our son have many nice memories of Silver Sands.

This school is in need of a new leader. My child was attacked in gym locker room because the teacher was on the computer instead of supervising the students. Then he was searched by the police. My child has a disability and the principal implied I was lying. They do not follow threw with any promises. In fact the principal humiliated my child and screamed for him to SHUT UP because he wanted to call his mother! They also refused my child a phone call to me. After this happened. Totally disgusting! Silver Sands needs a make over! I wish we could vote for a principal. Mrs Roland would be voted out she's been ruining the lives of children for many years!!!

My school is very dedicated to providing an excellent education for all students. We have a special needs child who has been accepted for who he is and is treated with dignity and respect. The goal at Silver Sands is to ensure every student receives a quality education to better prepare them for what lies ahead. Thank you, Silver Sands' teachers and administrators

I now go to silver sands middle school. We have 5 days of school left and I am very sad its ending! I will be in 7th grade this next year. I totally loved the 1st year here. At first it was a little scary but then I got used to it because all the staff helps you through it. I would recommend this school to every student! This school has been a, "A" School for years!!!!! Totally a amazing school!

Reviews should be allowed that reflect concerns and not screened out because they do not meet your definitiion of a great school. I suggest that Bullying be a major focus on this campus with enhance school oversight.
