Great school, principal is good and while it could be better and doesn't have the history id the other schools there are some great top quality teachers here.

The benefit of this school is there aren't as many lax families so there is a certain safety to going to middle years in a college bound family crowd. However, the gifted program here is very poor, my student wasn't challenged once and got A's sleeping. The teachers stay confined to a well defined box so they have no creativity or personality in the classroom which doesn't make for spontaneous pathways in learning while still hitting your learning standards. Very little meaningful relationships between kids and teachers and one science teacher who flat our says inappropriate things to females in front of entire classes who I cannot believe hasn't been reported. Special areas are beyond pathetic, my kid was beat on in PE, art may as well be for nursery school, the music teacher is insane, walks out of the room and leaves kids unattended and kids in charge, and most of his kids are taught at Cuchetti and he throws one or two mad performances together and everyone thinks he is some great educator. We lasted a half day in his camp and my kid called and said come get me he is out of his mind. This is a fluff over stuff school academically, but not as degenerate as other VCS middle schools. We went to another in NSB for the first 2 kids and the education was FAR superior. But I knew my other 2 could rise above the crowd so you have to ask yourself that and decide if you want to attend CMS and supplement real education to compensate for the low standards and dull uninspired teaching (they sit back bc the kids come from good families, and take credit for what they get at home); or, if you want passion and challenge in a less polished environment. Lousy set of choices in my opinion! Glad I am graduating my last one in a month - waited a long time to say it all!

My experience with this school is less then satisfactory. Therefore, I rate it very poorly.

As an educator, I wouldn't send my own children to Creekside. The main reason being the administration. I know nothing of the teachers but I can tell you that the administration is arrogant and condescending. They insulted me for teaching at a private school and insinuated that I would be unable to teach math at their higher level. However, when asked on the spot to demonstrate an entire math unit, I was able to easily do so, tying in learning objectives and common core standards. I was considering this school for employment based on the positive things I had heard. I immediately contacted the county HR and asked that my name be removed from this school as I would never consider working for this school if this is what their leaders are like. And on a side note, my child transferred into public middle school this year for 7th grade. He is not behind in math and just finished his Algebra 1 Honors class and passed the EOC. This is a high school level class. I don't see any deficiencies with his math education! Perhaps the administration needs to take a PD class on manners and professionalism and receive a little reminder that they were once teachers AND students.

The only reason why you guys are hearing that people are getting C's and D's in Creekside but A's and B's in Silversands, is because Creekside is set up for more advanced students, while Silversands is for more average students.

I moved to FL two years ago and started 6th grade at creekside. Right from the start they welcomed me warmly. I'm now going into 8th grade and haven't had any problems with the school. I like all of my teachers and I have had a wonderful time there. Sure some of the kids are bad but there's not many. The school is clean and well kept. I'm going to be taking two high school classes next year and I feel that they have prepared me for high school. I'm proud to say I got to creekside!

It was disappointing to witness very inappropriate and unethical behavior by one of the Creekside middle school reading teacher. Being a parent I expect teachers to be professional 24/7 and set a great role model for our children. Instead, her actions called in question about her abilities to educate young children.

It sounds good... but the reports sound bad... :( im about to move to port orange and go to this school creekside middle school. i am not sure if i should believe the reports? im not really sure. i will be going into 6th grade! i hope it is great! i want a awsome report card... please let me know if this school is great! ty!
