My 3 daughters have been attending this school for a few years. The curriculum is very basic and it is not at all faith based. The principal is not a person of faith and has stated she doesn’t run the school upholding the morals and ethics of Biblical teaching. They do not allow for parental input regarding school policies or procedures. The administration is extremely callous and unkind in interacting with parents.

Exceptional school!!! Teachers are outstanding; including the music teacher, PE teacher, Spanish teacher, the lunch room is incredible first time ever my kids loved buying lunches!Lighthouse Christian has always made us feel special. It's our home away from home for sure. The Principal - Mrs. O'Leary is a wonderful Principal, so caring and keeps all of our children safe!!

Both of my children have attended LCS since Kindergarten. The caring teachers and small small class sizes have been a key factor in their educational success. LCS does not have a “one size fits all” approach to educating the children, like many other of the Faith based schools in the area. When searching for a school, I liked that my children would not have to switch schools during the critical middle school years. The variety of extracurriculars offered is impressive for a school of this size. Art and music are a part of the regular curriculum unlike many public schools these days. LCS is a neighborhood school with a strong sense of community.

Our experience with LCS was wonderful. We mostly accessed the Middle School, which was supportive and had small classes. 20 kids to a class is very manageable for the teachers and the students. The teachers were amazing and very approachable when extra help was needed. An example, once I requested a conference about Math and the entire team showed up to talk about my son's overall experience and abilities. Wow, that never happened at our previous school. We found the administration was very involved and reasonable. The drama program is exceptional and all the hands on trips and activities were amazing. All around great experience, I wish it didn't end in 8th grade.

Not all as rosey as it looks. The school tolerates some pretty terrible behavior from a certain few if they're either giving money to the school or are children of one of the teachers. They also refuse to listen to bad reports of one of their poorly qualified, terrible 3rd grade teachers. They pretend to the parents that "nobody else has complained--this is the first I've heard of this problem" when that's not true in the slightest. When this teacher subbed last year before becoming a full time teacher--half the class threatened to leave the school. But it gets swept under the carpet and the teacher was then hired full-time because they were too lazy to look harder for other teachers! They lose a lot of students every year--the good ones--because of these problems. They'll also enroll anyone. One boy was kicked out of three other schools for disciplinary problems yet LCS took him in and he continued to cause problems there! We moved to another private school after just 2 years. Too many issues here that are intolerable and covered up with a big fake smile. Be warned! Do your research and talk to many families.

Lighthouse Christian Academy has been a Godsend to my son and our family. My son had been asked to leave another Christian school earlier in the year for disciplinary reasons. He was unmotivated about his education and generally unhappy about life in general. Fortunately our pastor recommended we try Lighthouse Christian Academy and even more fortunately our son was accepted. He fit in immediately and was more comfortable the first week at Lighthouse Christian than he had been after several years at his previous school. The faculty and administration welcomed and nurtured my son's emotional as well as his scholastic needs. They patiently worked on his weaknesses while gently reinforcing his strengths. As the school year progressed I watched in awe as my son blossomed and gained confidence not only scholastically but emotionally and socially as well. I saw his entire attitude toward learning and the importance of education change dramatically. His homeroom teacher became almost an additional family member who took such a sincere personal interest in my son's success words alone could never repay or adequately thank her for her commitment and devotion.

What I love about Lighthouse Christian School is that we are a "boutique" private school versus a "major department store" school. I love the personal attention and accessibility available from the school administrator and teaching staff. Small school size allows for custom tailoring of each child's personal and educational needs to best serve strengths and opportunities for growth. Teachers are personally invested creating model programs of Drama, Music, Sports, Advanced curriculum classes, Yoga and self esteem for girls. Our Navigator's room gives small group personalized instruction for students needing help in math or reading to bring to grade level. As a community of families with close personal ties serving our school, we also benefit from our Pink Church members support. Our campus is nestled between Lighthouse Point and Pompano Beach East of US1 at "The Pink Church", established in 1959. Reminiscent of days past, students and families ride walk, bike, skateboard, or travel by golf cart to school daily. On the same campus, Imagination Station Pre-School serves PK2-4 students who can then move seamlessly into Lighthouse Christian School serving K-8th grade.

Our daughter has been at LCS for 8 wonderful years. We feel that she is getting a great education and is surrounded by teachers and an administration that care about her. It is nice to send your child to school every day and know that they are in a loving and caring environment.

A wonderful nurturing environment. We are blessed with an exceptional administrator and the school is filled with caring educators. LCS has state of the art facilities and progams for all learning levels. The curriculum is designed to prepare our children for the next steps in their education.

My son has been attending this school since Kindergarten, he will be graduating the 8th grade this May. The small class sizes and loving, nurturing environment are the very things that have allowed him to succeed. It takes a village to raise children and every single teacher, aid and even the principle helped to mold, encourage and lift his God loving soul higher than we ever imagined. I am forever indebted to their wisdom, guidance and love of not only my son but of me as well.

This school under the guidance of Mrs. O'Leary has made my daughter the student she is today. They truly "walk the walk" when it comes to Christian values and through this foundation the teachers at LCS invest in the students on a level that goes far beyond the norm.

Our family came to Lighthouse Christian this year. Our son is in Kindergarten and our twins are in the preschool Imagination Station. We came from another well known private school where we felt there was just too much pressure on the children. When we came to tour Lighthouse Christian, as soon as we walked through the door we were sure we were in the right place. You can immediately feel the good energy and love! The principal, Rita O'Leary, is a true blessing! She is so involved in everything at the school and knows all of the children. Our children are excelling, as you could not find a better teaching staff who care so much for their students. Mrs. Minett has been an amazing Kindergarten teacher and our son loves school because of her. One night I asked our kindergarten son if he missed his other school where he attended for 3 years and he said no. He told me that at this school "he feels like he is a part of something". Lighthouse Christian was definitely the right choice for our family!

This is a wonderful elementary and middle school! The location east of Federal in Pompano Beach is convenient for east siders. Many local kids attend which is a great way to build community spirit. The teachers couldn't be more wonderful. There is a great balance of school work and cool extra-curriculars such as MindLab, cooking, art, theater and more. Small class sizes and bright classrooms make it all the better.

My daughter has been at LCS for four years now,and she loves it.It is a close net school with small classes so each child gets enough attention to fulfill their potential.The staff at LCS is so warm and friendly and really care about each and every child, I definatly would recommend this school for other families because it is very safe and clean and up to date with technology of today.The families at LCS put in a lot of service hours to help to raise money to provide the school with money to keep the children learning at their potential,it really would be great for LCS to win this contest,they could really help the children with this money as this great school heads toward the future,

LCS is a great school with a warm and nurturing atmosphere. There are so many wonderful families and it feels like a tight knit community within the school. The teachers are wonderful and the students are challenged to learn in a positive and caring environment.

The most welcoming school around. I can't say enough positive things about LCS! The teachers are wonderful and truly care about each and every kid. The principal is equally wonderful and has truly mastered the art of diplomacy. The school is small which makes it feel like one big family. Because LCS is so small it could really use a little financial help. The playground, teacher resources and more technology would be a great improvement!

My daughter went to Lighthouse Christian School from 2nd grade to 8th grade, it was the perfect school for her and our family.She had a wonderful experience and I will recommend this school to others.

My daughter came to Lighthouse Christian School in the Eighth grade. She absolutely loves it. The children are all sweet and innocent she says. The teachers are warm and welcoming. She is doing fantastically with straight A's. My daughter is one that will not do well if she is not happy. That is enough for me! I highly reccommend Lighthouse Christian School.

My school is Lighthouse Christian School. It is a very loving, nurturing school where the kids feel like a big family and work together. The staff is very encouraging and helpful. I would highly recommend this school. There is a balance of what children really need with the discipline in a loving way, guidance, patience. My son comes home happy everyday.
