Pollock Elementary was the first school my youngest attended. I really didnt know how good we had it until we moved and he had to go elsewhere...so much so that we came back, and I am determined not to move out of their district until he finishes 6th grade. To address another comment made here-There are no trailers that children are taught in, as stated by someone else the only outer buildings are for the health center. And with regards to not having ID checked, this is a small community and school, and when I go in they do not check mine either...because they recognize me and know me by name! They did, however, check when I sent someone else to pick him up the first time. I have no worries for his safety.I want to add that my child is special needs, and their SPED department and health center are top notch! My son is autistic and epileptic, and Pollock has been the best place for accommodating all of his needs. I have seen the other side and I now know how fortunate we are to be here.Every member of staff I have encountered seems to genuinely be interested in the betterment of their students, and that is a rarity. Yes, the building is fairly old, but it is clean and safe...and the people in it have made a world of difference for my son!

I have lived in Pollock for several years now and have had the pleasure of being put off so to say, and the teachers as well as the staff (including the school board) seem to be preoccupied with other things going on and over loking what needs to be addressed. Anyone can attend classes to make them look good on paper and in the mean time my child has been struggling for sometime now. People can be friendly enough doing a job and not get the job done. It also seems as though the teachers seem to be very aggravated with the open classroom policy, not liking to be looked in on with parents that are trying to stay involved. Support in the community is also terrible this school needs a fresh start and needs closer looking into if you ask me!
