Haggard Middle School exceeded our expectations! The campus leadership is among the best I have seen; engaged, visible, responsive, understanding and student-centered. The school is expanding social, academic, athletic and enrichment to give every student a place to find their interest. Teachers are accessible and friendly and provide an above level of communication weekly on learning and upcoming events. Students are celebrated for success. The school added an FCA Chapter to engaged those students in fellowship and spiritual connections. The fine arts program is phenomenal; achieving the highest awards in local and District competitions. The athletics program is supportive for all levels of athletes for both girls and boys with vertical alignment and engagement from the HS level coaches. The transitional times are well managed and monitored. Haggard will be getting a brand new campus in about two years which will be the newest and most technology-filled in PISD. YOU WILL LOVE BEING AN EAGLE!

My children went to school here for 3 years and our experience was HORRIFYING. My youngest experienced countless bullying and discrimination for being black not only by her peers but by her teachers and when we contacted admin about our situation, they did nothing. Do not enroll your child here.

My two kids attended 6-8 at Haggard. They both found good friends, were challenged academically and enjoyed the orchestra program. There were a few bumps in the road, but it wouldn’t be middle school without them. Excellent teacher support for things like cheerleading, science fair, and orchestra, that require a lot of extra time. They were both in PACE and honors classes, which prepared them for high school.

I had a good experience here throughout the years and it was a place where I felt safe and encouraged to be myself

My son will be completing his 8th grade year this spring and I have nothing but great things to say about this school. He has had a wonderful experience each year and has had great opportunities to learn and grow. The teachers have been great. I was concerned that the transition from elementary school would be difficult but it really could not have been easier!

D j vu.... 8th grade counselor went missing and of course the Admin didn't think it was important for the parents to know.... Only reason Julie-Ann even released a letter is because a few parents complained to PISD. As always the Julie-Ann and the rest of the admin staff believe they are above the Parents and do not have to answer to no one. She will stomp on anyone that even tries to make her accountable tor her actions.

Safe, empowering community in which children go through a life changing transformation that ripples through the family. I used to work there.

I agree with the previous post. The teachers are great but the admin needs help. The ladies in the front office wouldn t know what a smile is or being pleasant to the parents & students that walk in. The principle and her staff are unfriendly and I volunteer up there at the school store during the lunch period and I have never seen them speak to a kid with respect. But again I want to say how much we love the teachers there and that is the only reason we are not looking at transferring out. Just don t expect anything from the admin and you will be happy there.

The teachers are great. But the front office and principle and vice principle I don't think I have ever seen them be positive to a kid. I am really surprised how they talk down to most of the kids. We are for sure about transferring out. I really feel like they prefer that parents are not involved in their kids education. Bloke we just get in the way.
