Staff, teachers, coaches and fellow students truly exhibit the light of the Creator at Valley Lutheran High School. I believe Valley gives each student the opportunity to be successful in this learning environment. You will not find strict religious practices, but a culture that cultivates kindness, patience, endurance and acceptance. At Valley students don't have to fit in a perfect mold to be part of a group. Before the school year starts all students are encouraged to attend a camping trip along with staff. During this time spent together they do many team building activities. I believe this trip makes each student feel less anxious about starting the new school year. I currently have 3 children at Valley Lutheran High and they like school, have good friends, great teachers, and are involved in different clubs. I believe that each one of them will have a strong foundation by graduation to allow them to continue with success wherever life will take them. Thank you for your kindness and patience to the future generation of this World. May God give you His special blessing. In His Name above all Names, Father, Son & Holy Spirit, Amen.

Other than the location of this school (we live in the West Valley), this school is wonderful! Our son loves, loves, loves VLHS! He tells us this constantly. He has yet to tell us that he's had a bad day. This school has definitely been a good fit for our "marches-to-the-beat-of-a-different-drum" son.

I am so thrilled that we decided to enroll our Son at Valley Lutheran High School. This was our first Private school experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. When my other children when to Public Schools in the Scottsdale school system we never heard from their teachers or had conferences after the 6th grade. At VLHS the teachers are really involved in our student's whole development - academic and personal! I enjoy meeting regularly with the teachers and hearing the great things that happen in class. My Son has shared with me that he "LOVES" his teachers and knows they really care about him. We also love the size of the school and how you can participate in every sport if you want to. The Coaches are amazing at developing them into responsible, talented, Student Athletes. My son is now a Senior and getting straight "A's" and looking to get a scholarship to play College ball. The coaches, teachers and advisers are all helping us get him to the next step! I plan on having our Daughter attend high school here as well! Give VLHS a try - you won't regret it!

I couldnt be happier with our decision to join the VLHS community. My son LOVES his school. The teachers and administrators are so committed and they truly make Valley the close-knit, loving, special community it is. The kids receive constant support, guidance and mentorship from the staff. The classes are small and the kids get whatever extra help they need. The sports program is fantastic, especially for such a small school and the coaches encorage and need parent support. Valley is a gem of a school and we will always be grateful that my son has had the opportunity to be a part of it.

VLHS is a wonderful place for teens to feel like they are a part of something special. The faculty and staff care about their students by building relationships and investing their time. You are not just a number you are part of a family.

Valley Lutheran isn't as accepting as you all believe. The teachers gossip more than the students, they don't accept people's different religious rights (and try to get them expelled in the meantime), they aren't always knowledgeable in their classes (Many of my peers and I have corrected teachers many times and stumped them), they like to assert their power over everyone, they favor their sports team players over regular students, and they continuously ask for donations (even if you haven't attended that school for years) to improve their school, yet they throw it all into the gym that needs "remodeling" instead of new classrooms so the students don't pass out from heatstroke when running across the field to get to class on time (because some teachers like to lock kids out of the classroom for a good while). When it's 100 degrees outside they must eat outside, do you understand how miserable that is? To have your parents pay for a gym that has a small cafeteria area and you can't even eat in it until it's 115 degrees, ridiculous. Overall I wouldn't recommend this school. Save your $7k+ a year and take your kid to a public school, where they will be treated the same for free.

Valley Lutheran High School offers an amazing program, especially for children who could benefit from a smaller class size. My son was lost in public school and felt as though the teachers never had enough time for him, meaning he quite often had to arrive either early or stay late to get the help he needed. Not the case here. The faculty is very supportive and want their students to succeed. Giving the student a chance to find their voice and build their self confidence is one of the strong suits of this school.
