Their special education program is the only reason my children attended this school. Their learning center teachers and paras are the best. The nurse is amazing. Now to all the reasons I wouldn't ever let my kids attend here again. They allow bullying of all degrees. My daughter was harassed but not just students but teachers. There was a teacher who would make deeply inappropriate comments, barrate, and humiliate my child in front of her peers. My daughter was assaulted two weeks ago at this school for the principal to dismiss it. The principal man handles the children. No adult should grab another person's child because they are angry. This school is by far the worst experience. If you want a principal who hates children, front office staff who are unhelpful and rude, or teachers who bully students and allow other students to be bullied this is the school for you.

If your kid gets sexually assaulted at this school by another student, don't expect for it to be taken seriously. Principal will downplay the situation for her own reputation. The principal in place is a judgmental woman who discriminates against parents that don't fit what she wants. If you don't look the part, you will not be taken seriously. Do not enroll your child in this school. Sexual assault is a serious thing and should never be downplayed.

My son was struggling with his mental health after his experience with home learning. I knew that Sunrise Elementary had a focus on the social emotional wellbeing of its students as a top priority over test scores, and that they have a full time counselor on campus to support that wellbeing. This was extremely important to me, because I know that the anxiety caused by major learning gaps can just cause test scores to plummet even more as students feel like they are less than capable. The support my son has received at this school, both from his teachers and from peers has been OVERWHELMINGLY positive. He was afraid to transfer schools, but the administrators already knew him by name and said hi to him his first day! His teacher encourages him even when he thinks he can't do it, and celebrates him when he reaches his goals, or even shows significant growth. His peers will actively support him when he is feeling down, and they encourage kindness with each other at all times. My son has found a family at Sunrise, not just a place to learn and grow. He feels comfortable and challenged, encouraged, and is growing so well there. I appreciate everything the Sunrise staff and admin do to make this a place where student learning is facilitated through social emotional support.

I would rate my experience at this school a 0/10. Ever since the beginning grades of my child’s education, this school has displayed nothing by immaturity in the staff and how little they care for the students. The few people who genuinely care and put in their best efforts are completely surrounded by those who don’t...overall this conflicting environment is not a good one for young and impressionable children. Please do not make similar mistakes to mine and consider sending your child to school here. If you ever would consider such a thing, remember that there are reasons why attendance and enrollment are so terrible...and the best way to try out a school before you commit is to have your child shadow a student that’s been attending for a while. I wish you the best in finding an appropriate school, but this is not it.

This has been the worse experience I've ever had with a school. My children came late in the year and it has been nothing but issues! I would never recommend anyone to send their child here! I'm not even sure if there is any real learning happening

This has to be one of the worst schools ever. Thwy don't teach your child anything. They just send them home with homeowork so you can teach them. The turn over rate for employees is crazy. Most of the teachers I have dealt with don't even seem to like kids. Why are you even teaching? Most importantly though... if your child has any sort of specail need.. RUN. Do not take them here. They won't help your student, they will just act like you have a bad child. This school give children ulcers and panic attacks.

Hostile Learning Atmosphere DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!! Especially if you have a child with ANY kind of learning disability. The school states it has a zero tolerance for bullying so they will call the bullying "Just 6th graders being 6th graders" or even shame and blame the victim. Most of the teachers are under qualified. These are the lowest paid, bottom of the barrel teachers I have ever come across. The school spent thousands of our tax dollars on a neon sign but, don't have the basic funds for classroom needs. AWFUL SCHOOL, I COULD HAVE LEFT MY KID HOME WITH A BOOK AND A BAG OF GLASS AND HAD BETTER RESULTS

This is an amzaing school. Not only do they offer all day kindergarten for free but the teacher's are outstanding, the principal is amazing, and the communication we receive is more than a parent could ever expect. We could not be happier. We are thrilled to see what 1st grade will have in store for us.

i have had 3 children in this school. the teachers are very caring but the principal needs work, their are safety issues that need to be resovled still after 10 years and no improvment. good teachers are leaving because of administration, so sad. we are looking for a new school or charter children with speical needs are put aside:(

My Daughter has been going to Sunrise, Kindergarten through 5th grade. Every single Teacher has been first class, helpful, caring and courteous. Im sorry we have to move. I just wish they had a yearbook every year.

We have been very happy with this school, this year. Our son has a great teacher, has been invited to many fun events, and has had the opportunity to grow and learn and exercise with a fun afterschool program. The office staff are typically very helpful and curteous. We are disappointed that the lunch period and recess are so incredibly short and sometimes communication is lacking a bit, but overall, we have had a good experience with this school.

My grandaughter has attended Sunrise Elementary School kindergarten through 6th grade. The teacher have always treated her in a positive, kind manner. They have also been supportive to her family, enabling them to assist in her education. Any problems we have had are handled quickly and fairly by the Principal and her Office Staff. With this start we are sure that she will go on to a successful middle and high school experience.
