Teachers favorite students, they get not punishment, and get to do more.

The passion and love that is brought to school every morning by all of the teachers and staff is truly heartwarming. It's a supportive place with a great community and active PTO as well. My daughter is learning, challenged, supported, and really happy here every day. The "whole child" approach and social emotional learning curriculum is also SO important at these young ages.

Excellent. My two children have gone there since kindergarten and we have received support the whole time.

Old adobe has felt like an extension to our family. The kids really like their teachers and have made lifelong friends.

There is a warmth at Old Adobe that is unique and unlike other school campuses that I visit regularly for my job. I would not send my child anywhere else. A sweet, sweet school with fantastic people.

Old Adobe Charter is a welcoming community. Every child, teacher, parent, and staff member feel a part of this community; every staff member knows the name of every child. Our family has two boys attending O.A. and we have been part of the community for four years. While I may not be an active PTO parent and my volunteer time is more limited than I like, I am given ample opportunity that fits into my work schedule to be a part of my kid's school experience, and I feel welcomed when I am on campus. A big focus of Old Adobe's staff is for everyone to be READING, READING, and READING some more. I have even checked out books from the school's library. My 8 year old son is very social, very into video games, and always has a book on hand for pleasure reading. Reading for enjoyment is a powerful hobby. At Old Adobe, Earth Science is a hands on experience from tending the organic garden to hosting local astronomers who bring their telescopes onto campus to share with the kids and parents (and the PTO served hot chocolate). Finally, O.A. recognizes a child's natural love of the Arts, from acting on stage to Zumba class in the cafeteria, from creative writing to painting, children are given a chance to find an art form that they feel they can express who they are. We are pleased we became a part of Old Adobe's community.

I have a third grader and one in kinder, and they love this school. The parent involvement and amazing teachers make the school so special. I can't even begin to touch upon how special Ms. Ruby is in the office. I love the focus on the arts and sciences, and the way our kids are taught to be kind and to be respectful.

I have a child in lower and upper grades. I appreciate the way the teachers have taught them as individuals and allowed them to be themselves during the process. Outstanding edible garden, unrivaled 360* views, caring staff, involved parents, safe environment, expansive after school enrichment programs, and that just scratches the surface. Old Adobe is a feeling, not just a place.

The school teaches the whole child- academics, social skills, leadership skills. The curriculum weaves in art and music as well, something which often gets left behind. The school is very nurturing- the children all care about eachother and you can see it first hand.

I can say nothing bad about this school. The parents, teachers and staff have been warm and welcoming to our LATINO family since before day one. We attended last years open house as future incoming kindergarteners and the pre-kindergarten bar-b-q in the begining of the year. We are very satisfied with the programs available for academic success as well as for enrichment. Our daughter is shy but she has grown so much in her first year at Old Adobe. I would recommend this school to ANYONE and EVERYONE as it is in my mind and in my HEART the BEST school choice for all families looking for an EXTENDED family for their children. Our younger son can not WAIT to be an Old Adobe Elementary Student.

We were new to Old adobe last year. We were welcomed by the warm staff and friendly children. The kids were eager to learn my daughters name and to know all about her. We went on to put our kindergartner in this year. He was having behavioral problems for a little while. The principle, office and teachers all came together with us parents to find a working system. It was very effective. He is thriving, making good choices, and playing so well. We thank everyone at Old Adobe for helping us in so many ways! THANK YOU! And, the scores are some of the best!!

This school has a caring and informed community who believes in nurturing the whole child. Besides excellent education in reading, writing, and math there is an added emphasis on the arts. My first grader says he hates holidays because he can't go to school on holidays.

I enrolled my kindergartener in Old Adobe instead of the school we live by because of Old Adobe's excellent academic program and not for 1 day have I regretted that decision. On the first day of kindergarten, Mr. Keig, my daughter's teacher, told a group of us parents nervously waiting by the classroom as the morning bell rang, 'This is YOUR classroom!' That held true all year. We parents had unprecedented access to the classroom during class time. And the amount of parent involvement was considerable because of the inviting, all inclusive attitude held by the Old Adobe staff. She's a first grader now and I couldn't be more proud of any parenting decision I've ever made for her. Choosing Old Adobe has been the smartest choice and most rewarding thing I have ever done for my daughter. Sincerely & gratefully, the Shelton family

The list is long if you are looking for reasons to choose Old Adobe Elementary School. My daughter started this year as a very shy and timid girl and because of the wonderful and close knit community of the school and the excellent teachers, my daughter has blossomed into a very self confident first grader. Her teacher Ms. Stoep is very talented and the dedication of the staff to work as a cohesive team to benefit all of the students at Old adobe is impressive. You will not be a number or a nameless face at this school. Everyone from the Principal to the school secretary to the librarian will know your name and all about your child! I looked at private schools because I was not happy with the public school system, however Old Adobe is top notch and I would recommend this school to anyone.
