0 - I have dealt with schools for over 55 years as student, teacher, sibling, parent, principal, and external observer / evaluator. I have worked in small, medium, and large schools in rural, suburban, and inner city settings. I have seen some excellent teaching in wonderful schools, and I have taught in schools far below average. I can honestly say that Willis Hare has found a category of its own below the bottom of the chart. While I agree that Willis Hare needs a 'restart' in 2018, I do not think anything truly effective can happen under the current Principal. Nor can I imagine the chaos about to ensue for teachers, students, and families as long as she is directing it with her train of thinking

Willis Hare is an excellent school. I was hesitant at first about my son attending such a small school, but I have been very pleasantly surprised. The teachers reinforce positive behavior and work, with a no tolerance view on misbehavior. They hold the students to high expectations, and challenge them to reach their goals. I have been so impressed with what my son learned in kindergarten. His teacher was very open to communication and always made us feel welcome and included. She had many suggestions on ways to help my son improve, and always congratulated him on a job well done. My daughter will be attending pre-k next year, and we are so excited for her to start her school career at Willis Hare as well. The staff is very friendly, and everyone takes the time to get to know you and your children. Our family loves this school, and I encourage anyone considering home-schooling to give Willis Hare a try. The interaction with other students and staff, the quality of education, and the extras (such as field trips and programs) are extremely worthwhile and beneficial to the students. Great, great school!

As a parent of two small children that have been attending WHES since last year,I have to say "IT IS THE BEST SCHOOL THAT MY CHILDREN AND I HAVE EVER HAD THE HONOR OF BEING A PART OF."My chikdren never attended preK,so they went into kindergarden not really use to a structured enviroment and within 3weeks my boys had mastered their abc, could count to 50,were writing very ledgable, and what really blew my mind was THEY WERE LEARNING TO READ!! The most important fact is that my kids have enjoyed being there and have not once had ANY TROUBLE.This fact is s due to a PRINCIPLE and the highly qualified staff who has zero tolerance to trouble and trouble makers, also we the parents as our kids biggest influence we should all realize IT DOES TAKE A COMMUNITY TO RAISE A CHILD even moreso in the world we all live in today. My final statement is, Willis Hare Elementary School is that community!
