  I love this school. My 3 kids, all with different educational needs, are better for attending this school. I count myself fortunate to live in a rural county with such an excellent public school.

  It appears as if a few The only positive thing that can be said for Southampton High School is there are a FEW good teachers. Unfortunately, those teachers can only do what the school board & admin. allow them to do, which isn't much. Success at SHS doesn't depend so much on WHAT you know, but rather WHO you know. If you don't know, attend church with, or aren't related to the "right" people, you will basically be shunned, students and parents alike. Pertinent information, help, and guidance freely overflows for the "connected" students, whilst others are forced to figure it out for themselves. Also, when it comes to school rules, the "connected" students are allowed to bend, break, and completely dismiss them without repercussion. Other students must strictly adhere to the rules without fail. On occasion, the principal or a random office employee, will declare a new rule or policy (not written in the student handbook) which only certain students must abide by. Blatant discrimination. Also, money paid by students for "dues", vanishes into thin air. F--

  My children have been involved in this school for the past 3 years and I am not at all impressed! The teachers and admin leave a lot to be desired! There are some teachers that are great however many that we have encountered are less than I would reccommend! I have seen teachers give students the answer to final exams to keep their scores high, teachers give open book tests continualy so their students pass. Admin is a joke I would would not reccommend this school to anyone. My gifted child is not at all challenged and my child that needs "extra" help is often left blowing in the breeze! Some of the rules/regulations that are being changed are detrimental to the children and their education. And getting any problems solved with staff/admin is like talking to the wall! If you are looking for a quality school to send your child to I would highly reccommend looking elsewhere!

  I believe teachers should not yell at children. That does not reflect self-control nor teach children how to handle situations. It teaches inappropriate use of power. It is with knowledge and complaints allowed from both teachers and bus drivers.
