Northeast is an well established school with strong administration, great teachers who work together as teams, and excellent support services for alternative learning needs including advanced learning, gifted and talented programming, learning disabilities, and special needs. The school has both a physiologist and counselor, supporting social-emotional wellness. Classmates work together in groups often. Each grade level has multiple Project Based Learning projects, primarily worked on in school, to tie in curriculum-based subject matter while utilizing practical real-life skills, including critical thinking skills and collaboration. In addition to rotating through art, music, PE, and science/STEAM, and intentional library time, many other enrichment and extracurricular activities are offered before and after school, including art classes, jewelry making club, science club, orchestra, band, choir, robotics club, Lego club, sports clubs, and more. We love that classmates are also neighbors or living nearby. Our child has thrived in this enriching, thoughtful, caring environment, and we are thankful to have such an incredible community schools in both Mountain View Elementary (preschool - 2nd grade) and Northeast Elementary (3 - 5th grade.)

With a child on the spectrum, this school went above making the curriculum inclusive. Could not ask for a nicer staff!

Our family absolutely loves this school! As a parent and a substitute teacher for NE, I am consistently impressed by the dedication and expertise of the teachers and staff. My son truly thrives in this school and is challenged by his grade level teacher, Ms. Murray, specials teachers and Gifted Ed coordinator, Ms. Sunni Gibbons. I highly recommend this school and am proud to be a part of it!

We love Northeast! The teachers and staff are fantastic! They truly put the kids first with great classes, teachers and systems. They offer Eagle Time which gives the teachers a chance to differentiate their lessons and meet the needs of all learners. NE is a project based learning school and my 3rd grader has participated in designing a Tiny House and creating a business so far this year. The PTO offers community events and opportunities to volunteer. We’re so thrilled NE is our neighborhood school!

Poor experience. I had a better experience in a much poorer school district. Many factors. The teachers try but so many are new and have little experience that there is a problem in constructive discipline and ends up being screaming at kids. This happened several times throughout the year and my wife and I were told to discuss it with the teacher. The teachers either denied having done it, or said that is the way the world operates. When we requested a different teacher, we were given the run around and told it is against policy. Our child with a disability was not given any type of help. Our two other children hated going to school. Thank heavens two of our three kids are out of the school. The third we are on a waiting list for a charter.

I have had the opportunity to see Northeast go through a tremendous amount of change over the last two years. While I certainly could not have rated the school highly last year, it is with absolute sincerity that I say there is no other school that I would rather be at this year. The pains of changing over a staff and administration can be great, but the new administration of Kara Tidemann and Katie Sodara-Jensen have truly had an immediate impact in turning NE into a school that values children, teachers, and parents, and that is committed to creating an environment in which every child succeeds.

Northeast is a great neighborhood school. The new principal, Kara Tidemann is wonderful and very caring. I am shocked and saddened by the awful review one parent has reported. I am in contact with Kara on a regular basis and I've seen that she and her staff are incredible. Keep up the good work! Also to note, the previous principal was not a good fit for this school. There is no need to outline specific details however, he was not the person described by the previous reviewer. Ask any parent who had a student here in 2015-16.

NE is a school I visit often………and, as a former educator, I know of depth of the commitment I see and feel from the teaching staff and the school's leader, Mr. Van Auken. His transition to becoming Principal of NE was not easy (it's not easy for any new Principal) but he soon learned the do's and don't's about leadership and its role within the wider community. It's certainly remains a great school with a great leader. Well done, Mr. Van Auken, well done NE teaching staff! Lucky students!

Northeast still offers art, music, band, and choir. They have a new Innovation Lab this year that is fantastic. The team at NE is smart, caring, and joyful.

I'm so disappointed that Jeannie Tenecki left NEbRlementary this past year. She was so involved with all the kids and knew everyone. She showed up to events with enthusiasm and genuine regard for the kids. The new principal, Josh VanAuken has been less than impressive. There's total lack of involvement and excitement about his job. He didn't even get involved with the number 1 fundraiser for his school today, The Run for Funds. Instead he watched from under a tree removed from the students and parents. Just weird. Doesn't come out at carpool to greet and meet parents. Just completely removed. I hope he's nudged in the right direction and is just overwhelmed with his new role. He sure doesn't act like he's going to be around for very long.

Northeast is a warm, caring learning environment for my son. His 5th Grade year has been the best yet! His teacher (Mrs. West) is amazing and the staff obviously took special care in the placement of my child. He has blossomed. The 5th Grade Math arrangement has been amazing! Mrs. Burnett has exceeded my expectations and my son can't wait for Math Class everyday. I definitely feel my son is prepared for Middle School and Northeast ahs helped him realize a genuine love for learning. Thank you!

We are happy to be a part of this school, and this community. The principal is outstanding, personable and driven. The teachers are committed, involved and caring. This all in the face of a current BOE administration that has pushed through agendas that the majority of our community does not agree with. We are blessed to have such commitment to our children in times of change. The parents, committees, PTO and community are very dedicated to the best environment for our children to excel and to have a bright and competitive future. We are involved, tight-knit, educated, and supportive of each other. Douglas County schools are extremely well regarded and exceptional. As with all governing entities in a democracy, there are occasionally adjustments to be made. I highly recommend this school, its sister school Mountain View Elementary, and the intermediate and high schools that this school feeds in to.

My daughter's school is North East Elementary and we love it. My son attended North East for three years and now my daughter is in 3rd grade. Our teachers have always been amazing and creative and the staff are all friendly and helpful. My son left for Jr. High completely ready for the challenges ahead. He was given the extra help he needed with organization, as well as being pulled out for accelerated math. I am confident that my daughter will be happy there and find success as well. The community is close and involved and I couldn't be happier.

Wow, can't say enough about this school. We were blessed with a new principle a year and a half ago. She has made monumental changes in this school to make it a positive learning experience for every child. She cares deeply about each and every child and has gone to additional measures to make sure our children are safe. The teachers are just as wonderful. They pay attention to each child's needs and help them grow.

I agree with what a difference a school year makes! New administrative staff is GREAT! Out with the old staff, in with the new staff and things are so much better! Looking forward to things getting even better. Our family is feeling we have a school who now really cares about our children!

We moved to Parker last year & enrolled in our neighborhood schools based on the amazing impression our sister school Mt.View (k-2) made on us. Northeast didn't make as strong of an impression last year, however...THIS year is a whole NEW experience! THANKS to our NEW principal, Jeannie Tynecki! WOW what difference the start of this year has made! The parents are so delighted with the refreshing & exciting changes Mrs. Tynecki has made. We are so proud to be part of such a supportive & enriching school community. These sister schools are dynamic duo for sure! The PTO is awesome & the families of Northeast are welcoming & supportive of all students. We were blessed with an amazing 4th grade teacher last year, & have been equally impressed so far this year! The new art teacher has dove in head first & the kids are really excited about their projects. Both Mt. View & NE offer wonderful school clubs for students & a contagious enthusiasm to do their best & be the best! THANK YOU to all the teachers & staff, especially Mrs. Tynecki, for working so hard to make Northeast an amazing place to educate my children! It's a NEW day at Norhteast! :)
