If your child struggles, there is not enough resources to help them. As of right now, the school is financially unstable and is threatening to close if the very large tax burden referendum is not passed by voters. The District has eliminated so many classes to try and fix their financial problems that they are continuing to lose children to open enrollment and families are not moving into the district. Unfortunately the financial problems are creating an even wider gap between what other school districts nearby can offer versus what Palmyra Eagle can offer.

Our son has really enjoyed his time at Palmyra-Eagle Middle School. He has learned from great teachers, and his test scores show it. Since the Middle School and High School are in the same building, he has also been able to work with some of the High School staff for enrichment activities. It has been an excellent experience for our family.

I have one child currently attending this school and one that completed his middle schooling here. The teachers really do care about the children and know how to individualize learning. My oldest son was able to take high school math classes in both 7th and 8th grade to keep him challenged. Students are introduced to both Spanish and French and the middle school level. Each student is given a Chromebook at no cost to families and they are able to take it home as well. The counselor meets with each student and family multiple times to develop a plan for future goals. The district as a whole has made recent upgrades to the curriculum in multiple subjects areas. Palmyra-Eagle Middle School has been a wonderful fit for our family!

My son attends this school right now and he LOVES it. He is learning a lot about various topics and the teachers are wonderful at keeping in contact with the students and parents. They really care about my son. My son is good in math and he was given the opportunity to advance from 7th grade math to 9th grade math this year, which I really appreciate because it is helping to challenge him and help him advance his skills. Being a smaller school district has allowed his class sizes to be smaller, which allows for more personalized attention from the teachers. Out of the blue this year my son decided that he wanted to play basketball. Because this is a smaller school district, he was welcomed on to the team and really enjoyed learning and playing the game. In a larger school I am sure he would have had to "try out" and would never have had the opportunity to play. I like that all the teachers and administrators know my son. They have great communication between the teachers and students and between the teachers and parents, through online technology like Skyward and Google Classroom. My son has also been able to join FFA, which is teaching him great leadership skills along with being in Boy Scouts. I asked my son if he would want to go to a larger school, and he said no way....Palmyra Eagle is the perfect size!

You will love this school. The teachers are caring, engaged, and professional. The District has new curricula for all grade levels, and our children are thriving. A key feature of the entire District is individualized education. That is, the students are tested frequently, and their educational experience is adjusted accordingly. For example, interventions are provided every week to provide higher level materials and student groupings for children who are higher-functioning academically, and targeted studies and attention is provided to those who need more help. As they progress, the educational strategies promptly change to meet the students needs. It s a clever individualized approach, and it is working. The Middle School is in a small school district, and there are tremendous advantages. In sports, everybody gets to play. In academics, everybody gets attention. The Administration from the bottom engages with families. No student gets lost in the crowd." Parents are encouraged to participate in the classroom and it is common to see parents working with students in the classrooms, every day. This is a vibrant, thriving educational community.

The great schools ratings for this district pretty much say it all. The level of academics is probably better than some of the worst inner city schools, but compared to the surrounding districts of Waukesha, Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, East Troy, and even Whitewater, this school is at the BOTTOM. The kids are not encouraged to achieve, and show little interest in planning to continue their educations after high school (also highlighted in the greatschools results). This school also has serious problems with bullying - so much so that the kids think that physical altercations are completely routine and nothing to be concerned about. I've seen numerous kids who went to this school thrive and blossom. Each one of them had this happen AFTER they left this school and moved to another district. If you want to know how bad it is, ask the administrative staff exactly how many students in this district choose the long drive to other districts in order to avoid attending Palmyra-Eagle schools. Then ask why. I did. They seem to have no idea, and as a result, no plan on how to make the school better. I feel blessed that I personally did not have to attend this school.
