I had older kids in HR like 10 years ago and the school was awesome, back to school picnic, movie nights for kids and some extra activities from time to time organized by PTA, and communication from school. Now I have my youngest again in HR and I know noting, there is no winter concert, no extra activities, no homework policy. Some other districts in the area have Spanish after school that you can sing up your kid or art classes like Young Rembrandt. At HR there is noting, and even if your kid forgot something from the classroom there is no way you can get it. Very sad, I honestly don't even know what my kid is learning. The only improvement I see is the CARE program but that one is thru the Park District not School.

I like this school for many reasons first they build the students, so my experience with two kids. I Love it how the progress in the school. Second, the teachers very concern about their students progress. In addition, the system of this school is organized. All staff are very kind. Thank you all Hunting Rige school

Things have really gone downhill in the last years. The pta, which once thrived, has become an obstacle to parents and students. I've heard part of it is one family who has bullied the admin into taking all food from the school, but I've only been here a few years and don't know that group of people. All I know is that other district schools still have movie night with pizza and popcorn, but that is gone for us. For all the tax money we pay here, we deserve an admin that can get things back on track.

We had a very poor experience from many aspects of our experience. This was very disappointing as we moved into the neighborhood for the schools. We decided to withdraw our children from the building after too many troubling instances over a long period of time. We and our children could not be happier at their new placement.

The school has the most outstanding teachers who care about fill and delivery the most effictive learnings to all different levels students. But the admistration staffs are not too engage and friendly to parents who need help. The school office secretary need t9 be more professional and helpful because they are first image and person to represent the school.

Teachers are the greatest asset of this school. The PTA is always striving to contribute in a positive way. We moved to the area 2 yrs ago specifically so that my child could attend Hunting Ridge. We were not disappointed at all. A student here is exposed (and encouraged) to socially diverse community, preparing him when it is time to face real world challenges. There is extra emphasis on discipline, and mutual respect towards teachers and fellow students. (something sadly missing in many schools today, first hand experience!!!). There are advanced academic programs available to challenge your kid beyond what a typical classroom will offer. Looking forward to having our second child start HR next year!!

The teachers make this school great. Love the commitment and the focus on the kids. The teachers appear to love what they do, and I appreciate that. My children are excelling at this school. We moved to this school two years ago. I cannot speak to the administration or the principal as I have zero interaction with them.

I moved to this area in part because of the reputation of District 15. I'm sorry to say I was thoroughly disappointed with Hunting Ridge. The teaching staff is decent and many of them are talented educators, but the commitment to excellence has diminished greatly primarily due to the administration. The administration has metaphorically tied their hands behind their backs. I have seen the teachers try to help a child progress, and the administration cuts them off at the knees. I have seen teachers nearly brought to tears. The administration is so focused on the financial and statistical bottom lines that the welfare and achievement of the students is negatively impacted. They truly literally outright lie to your face about options. They are more interested in their "scores" than what the students actually learn. The surrounding districts (Schaumburg and Arlington Heights) now surpass District 15. It's a shame to me that such an affluent and well respected district would allow itself to fall so far.
