As a former black student, the racism and the excused racism in this school is unbelievable. There’s confederate flags everywhere, micro aggressions being thrown around by the TEACHERS all the time, and teachers saying the N- word and trying to make excuses for their selves immediately after being called out for it ( only by me of course). If your kids are black or a person of color, I would not recommend this school at all. The majority of kids and teachers at the school are skinny, so if you or your kids are overweight or hold your weight differently, teachers will take jabs at that too. I was once doing exercises with my biology class to get a pulse, and after about 5 minutes my teacher came up to me with an irritated look and said that I should’ve been tired by now. For a tiny bit of context, I was about 190 and 5’7. So I was visibly chunkier and I was very much in shape. Thought I know it didn’t appear to be. After about doing these cardio exercises for another 5 minutes (10 minutes total) the teacher started to snicker when he noticed that I was getting tired. Don’t get me started on the kids. If you or your child is someone shy or non confrontational, they will try to bully and harass you. Just an overall no for me.

My son has AD and Autism and the school tells me that my son is the problem that he is not doing the best he can that he is lazy. There has been 2 teacher that has hit him in the back of his head to get him working again and used a air horn to get his attention.

NMS is not that great, it is dirty. Staff treats kids as if they are second class citizens. Get told one story one day and another a next. Attitude is it is ok for kids to be disrespected and treated any way if they broke a rule. Teachers rather play on smart phone than teach. If you can avoid it do so! There are a very few great teachers, most are subpar.
