My son absolutely loves this school. He has supportive teachers that want to see him succeed, the student population and community were very welcoming with him leaving a BIG school district and starting here as a 4th grader. The biggest difference is that he can have a life outside the classroom, where our last big school loaded him down with needless busy homework. My child is thriving at Orrick, testing well above other students throughout the state, and actually is ENJOYING school again.

Being such a small community, you would think this would be a "stand together school", however it couldn't be farther from that. You have the entire school board who goes to church where the school board president is the pastor, which makes it very clique-ish. If you aren't a farming family, or you have an average american income, your child will not be given a second look when it comes to day to day activities, haunting your child up into high school. Sports are the main priority of the high school. They are very " anti-bully", which is the biggest joke ever. Your child will get picked on, hit, pushed down, kicked and drug thru mud by other kids and the school turns a blind eye. However, you tell your child to fight back and they stand firm on 'if your child hits, there will be consequences', but don't worry, there won't be any. The teachers here are great. They are supportive and keep close ties with parents, but you move beyond the teachers into the administration, you're done for. The administrators gossip and judge, worried only about their precious reputations rather than caring about the kids. The superintendent (Aerin O'Dell) will speak to you like you are a dog and leave it at that. This school gets away with too much disrespect and misleading, do not bring your children here!!!
