They have a great team! The kids have been given so much support and encouragement, and the campus activities are created with so much passion, we are proud to work with the OCVS team!

CORRECTION: We do not recommend you send your student to this school. If you have a need online option try FLVS instead. This school is not designed to work with your student, if they have any accommodations or additional support. It’s run like a business and if you does not meet their inconsistent requirements you are out! This is not good for a child; and creates a constant state of instability. If you can, do not send your student here.

Orange county virtual school and Florida virtual school are 2 different things.I removed my child from public school due to multiple concerns. One of them was their insistence that a child of a certain age can only learn certain skills and if they are already proficient in those skills then the child gets left out. Orange county virtual school claimed that students could work at their own pace but that is wholly untrue. If a child is slower then they have the flexibility to spend all day working on something that they are having trouble with but if a student has easily grasped something they are forced to continue "learning" the same thing and keep pace with the slower children. It's counterintuitive to punish children who are working hard or achieving above and beyond others in their age group. I would not recommend this school to anyone for that reason. There are better options.

My son was in West Orange High School and the teachers were often apathetic, the discipline was hit and miss and I felt like he was not learning to his potential. We left West Orange HS and finished his last 2 years with Florida Virtual School and it was wonderful. The teachers were in touch and encouraging - the work flowed swiftly where it could and he was allowed to spend more time where needed. Projects were done and photographed at each step and the exams were oral so that the teachers knew it was the student doing the work. The homework went into drop boxes and was so convenient. I highly recommend this method of education!!
