This school is terrible. My son is a standout athlete with a learning disability. The staff, and especially the principal are not very helpful. They dish out unwarranted disciplinary minors like Halloween candy. I urge you to find another option if one is available. My son is literally targeted every week. Its horrible

After reading these reviews, and having my children at Legacy, I can unequivocally say that Legacy is a great school that is battling old perceptions. My husband and I have always felt welcomed in the front office, and our kids have had great experiences with their peers and classwork. The school communicates with us on a regular basis and our kids feel safe there! I recommend this school and suggest that any family who is considering Legacy to do so.

This is my first year at Legacy MS. I feel like I have been more self-aware of my insecurities while being here. The school education overall isn't bad, but it could be way better. The school makes me feel disgusted and unsafe. The other students at this school need to be taught how to correctly behave. The main reason I am writing this review is because I feel as though I am surrounded by the people who are causing the problems. They are the ones changing the attitude and behavior of other kids. I am if anything relieved that this is my last year at this school. This is also my first year at this school. I just want to say that this school has changed my mindset a LOT. The students at this school are extremely inappropriate. There's graffiti in the bathrooms, gum on the walls, and the staff don't care enough to clean it. Although the staff here isn't the main problem, the cleanliness of Legacy is horrible. Almost every month there is a fight somewhere in the school. Whether it is outside in the courtyard, in the halls, or even the bathrooms. Just last month, me and my friends were outside when a random eighth grader who was tackling a sixth grader, pounced on us. My friend got hit in the face and had to go to the nurse. Luckily, she was alright. I really don't like this school. There is an awful amount of random rumors making kids feel bad. Kids keep causing drama. Everywhere i look, someones getting yelled at, for behavioral reasons. I wish I could transfer to another school. If you're a parent looking for a school to put your kids in, don't choose this one. There are other great middle schools out there, like Timber Springs or Odyssey. -Sincerely, two students at Legacy.

As a student in the 7th grade, i'd like to share my overall experience in legacy middle school. I'd like to first address the pros of this school which include, many great teachers, mediocre/average learning environment, I also observed the amount of advanced and honors classes for your gifted students. To conclude my review i'm addressing my final thoughts and concerns, please do not send your special ed children here, they are made fun, and the students aren't very supporting, teachers have short attitudes helping with your children. The safety and execution of rules are very poor and unfair, I had many classmates of mine complain of their unfair punishments, and I also noticed there are numerous threats, and the students here are very unforgiving, and rude. The excitement of learning or doing good in school is very low as i observed. I hope this review was helpful and changed your mind on taking your children here.

this school is honesty so nasty theres always trash everywhere, things are always broken, dead bugs everywhere, and so much more nasty stuff in this school like this school is so unsanitary its insane. please dont bring your kids to this school. another thing is the dress code the one thing that i dont understand is that they only dresscode the females and never the males. the males always have they're shirts off but the girls get dress coded for they're backs showing?? this school is trash in conclusion.

honestly this school is trash there always fights and threats its absolutely disgusting gum and dead roaches everywhere. there's always drama. you get in trouble for the littlest things. there are not a lot of good teachers(there is some) i'm just so tired none of the teachers listen like i have to be next to very distracting people and when i complain it's my fault somehow. A LOT of the male teacher are disgusting there asking there female students to jump or spin and its so gross. there are rules you can't be on our phone which makes sense but even at lunch and that makes no sense and the teacher deans ect are ALWAYS on there phone like the rules should apply to all of us were all human but they treat us like robots and its seriously not cool. so if you a parent reading this don't send your child to this school it is not a good idea it will seriously change them.

It could be worse, but I am definitely glad I only have 1 more school year after the current rent year until both my kids are in high school.

My experience is a lot of mixed feelings. The teachers aren’t my big problem. My big problem is the administration that yell at students for every single thing.I get panic and anxiety attacks basically everyday because some administrators yell at me for nothing. So basically I would be walking into lunch and I would be yelled at for standing up when I just walked in 2 second ago.I get yelled at for “being on my phone” when it’s not in my hands or if it’s off on my desk but I’m not using it.My counsler doesn’t make me feel comfortable to an extent. She makes me feel anxious and that isn’t how a student is supposed to feel around their counselor. Also if there is test and they call a class to go to a room not for testing reasons and don’t tell them there is testing in that room early then that makes students late to class which makes the amount of time learning limited. There is a bunch of more things I would say but I’m just keeping it short for now.

Terrible. This school made me develop a literal fear of school and it got to the point that at the end of eighth grade I would have a panic attack before school almost everyday.

Seriously need to ease up on the kids. This NO TOLERANCE discipline goes a bit to far and beyond. Rather than educating kids they quickly suspend them, especially kids with GPA's that are better than the principles. I was truly upset and let down by the unprofessiknalism, quick to judge, slow to teach. It's sad that their system only focusing on preparing them for finals and not teaching them for what the world truly has to offer them.

This is our second year at Legacy and I am overall satisfied with the instruction my kid has received. Her advanced classes are challenging her and most of the teachers really care regardless of how many kids they're responsible for. There is a new principal since last year and he's all business. He's very concerned about students' discipline, safety and academic achievement. I like how they have grouped the students this year. They are focusing largely on at risk populations but they also have challenging curriculum for the high achievers. I would like to see more afterschool clubs and activities besides sports and YMCA things, same goes for electives during school time. I know there is a budget and academic priorities but students could benefit from other electives such as languages. It would be nice to be able to start their second language requirements at Legacy. We love the AVID program offered. It is truly helping our child get ready for the demands of high school courses. PTSA could do more fundraiser activities to help the school get up to date with technology. They're falling behind FAST in this area!
