This school is honestly great the teachers for the most part teach well, the kids well chatty are decent, and there aren’t any fights (well there have been a few). As well as this as I read the reviews it seems like back then this school was a lot worse, so I’ll say that it isn’t what it seemed to use to be. Unfortunately because this school is so small there are almost no electives, the only ones are ict, Pe,the various music stuff, and project lead the way. In my case I’m a computer guy so I was good to take ict but other people may have other interests like art for example. Also there is no gym and it sucks but in the schools defense that would cost a lot of money. Now I don’t want to say anything rude to the staff because for the most part the staff is pretty good but I feel like teachers don’t listen to the kids enough, because I’ve gotten in trouble numerous times for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time: They would never listen to me when I tried to explain (this isn’t a thing with all the staff). Next up the cafeteria (oh boy) they for some odd reason will get mad at you if you get up from your seat, and it’s not just that it’s the fact that you’ll get in trouble because you stand up to throw your stuff away but they think you’re trying to go sit somewhere else and get mad at you. Also if you sit somewhere your not allowed to move, now I can sorta get this but not at all is sorta bad because what if you sit with the wrong people and then you want to move welp to bad guess your getting lunch detention. Now I’m saying all the negative of this school so why did I give such a high rating, Becuase nothing is really perfect and I think overall this school is great. The teachers (for the most part) are nice and understanding the school as a decently fair punishment system and the homework is just the right amount. So would i going here, well if your kid or yourself is smart enough (a’s and b’s) then yes I would go here. Also I would recommend going here if you want a smaller school with less kids. One of the main reasons I went hear is because I have adhd and because of this school my behavior is so much better. So cya

This school is perfect for kids who want to learn in a safe, stable environment. The teachers love what they do and it shows. They truly care about the students.

I feel confident my daughter is getting an excellent education at Arbor Ridge. We’re thrilled! My only complaints are around accelerated vs. gifted learning. Also, I truly wish Orange County would build in the ability to grandfather siblings in. My gifted son didn’t make the lottery for Arbor Ridge, and it’s a serious burden for us to now have to transport our 3 children to 3 different schools to get a halfway decent education.

This school is great, especially if your child is a high-academic achiever and does not have disabilities involving social-behavioral challenges.

My kids have been at ARS for 3 years and we feel like we've found a hidden jewel among public schools. The co-teach classes are amazing. The teachers have been so encouraging and engaging. They have a strong PTSA. The administration is warm and friendly. I feel like the entire school promotes an inclusive environment that all students regardless of their differences are valued.

Arbor Ridge is an amazing school - sure it's not perfect but for a public school to have such an amazing staff and PTSA is truly a blessing. My kids' teachers have all been so supportive and wonderful!!

I'm not sure what these other people are talking about. I've had children at Arbor Ridge for the past 10 years. Of course there will be one or two teachers that you will butt heads with (one of ours was the gifted "teacher" someone mentioned below - thankfully she's no longer at the school). With the exception of a few bad apples, my kids' teachers have been AMAZING! Yes, it's true there aren't many electives or after school school activities, but it's a school. Your child is there to learn, not to play all day. They have music, art, P.E., band, ORFF, chorus, soccer, track, Battle of the Books, Spanish club, and a few others that I cannot remember off the top of my head. They have been an A rated school for over a decade, and there's a reason for that. Yes, there's a lot of work, but all that hard work will pay off in the end!

I'd rather be at Maitland Middle because at least they're school has electives to offer . All Arbor Ridge has is P.E. , Spanish , and Band .

I have nothing but praise for the teachers and staff. They have guided my child who is Autistic and ADDH from a student who was failing and kept back, to being on the same level as her peers and a c+ student. She has grown as person because of Her excellent teachers and the staff. So yes to Common Core and Thank you Arbor Ridge!

The school as a whole is only concerned with FCAT scores. The teachers have not been properly trained on how to teach the new common core and it has made a bad situation worse. The teachers stress out the kids with countdown days till FCAT months out. If your child falls behind they don't help they would rather hold them back or try to convince you there is a learning disability so their test scores won't count. The administrative dean shouldn't be in her position or in my opinion any position where she can influence the self esteem of children. I was told the second week into the school year that my son wasn't meant for school. But not to worry "because the world will always need a plumber or an AC guy" My son was in prep school from age 2. Reading at age 3 and never had anything but glowing reports until he came to this school. In 2nd grade he tested on a 6th grade level, now being here is falling behind and below level. He hates school now and stresses over it daily. Needless to say I am not happy with this school and I would recommend looking into different alternatives as I am.

For a magnet school they have very little to offer other than basic academics: * in the past years they offered gifted classes - that is no longer available (a gifted teacher was simply atrocious who made kids and parents to either exit the gifted program or hate it (by the way, the same teacher is still on staff and currently teaching 8th grade Language Arts) * no foreign language, Art or Music available as electives * only one elective available - PE * no gym or athletic facilities of any sorts (PE is conducted at the bus loop)

Leadership in this school is pure evil, the principal and demonic dean are well trained on covering up the truth even if it's for the well being of child. They try uphold a perfect image. They do not have the children's best interest in mind. All the principal and staff care about is a fake perfect school image.Beware if your child goes here.....

This school needs more help to properly work with special needs kids. Elementary school special needs teachers are overwhelmed, have no permanent assistants.

This school is in Federal violations - IDEA, is really sad because our special needs kids can have more from them, they are just like a Day Care for them.

I have to admit, my school is awesome even if I don't like school in general. The staff really cares about you. You actually learn here. I have been in this school since kindergarten and next year will be my last year. I'm going to miss this school. So many friends and great memories and even some bad ones but thats okay. I love Arbor Ridge.
