Ive been attending this school going on the third year. The teachers this year are trying. The non instructional team creates a negative environment doesnt help children learn and feel supported. All the leaders should not create a very hostile educational environment. The 8th grade group has been "written off". They dont properly inform parents and help create more negative incidents. Children on this campus deserves kindness and a loving atmosphere for education. Support your children.

This is one of the worst schools I’ve ever sent my kid to. There is no support from the teachers or the principal. I will be pulling my kid out of this school. It’s very unorganized. There are very few great teachers here. Look at some of the teachers on LinkedIn and see what they did prior to teaching. Some have 0 teaching experience and it’s evident.

so i've been in union park since 6th grade i'm now in 8th grade for 6 and 7 grad ethier was a principle that didn't care about us was unfair and there was so many fights and not being handled the right way in my 7th grade year i had a really awesome teacher and cared about me alot and always made sure i'm ok and still does even though im in 8th she still finds the way to make sure im doing good now in 8th grade this school has changed a lot in a good way now you have to sign in on your computer for a pass to go somewhere like the bathroom you get 4 min and if you go over the 4 min alout your gonna get in trouble they lock the doors after the bell rings so if you don't make it through the doors your gonna get in trouble and you'll be escorted if they call for you to go home etc the phone policy is stricter and that's good i hope that its gonna be a good last year at this school and i hope this school does good in the change.

Bad grading system you won't get rennesaince (a reward for getting good grades on your report cards) if you miss more than 3 days of school for the quarter, I missed 3 and a half days and have good grades and did not get rennesaince, my friend has a f and 3 Ds in her report card and got rennesaince. i can assure you I'm a hard working student and try not to miss school.

I would not recommend this school . There is a lot of bullying and fights . Staff members get easily overwhelmed with children . There main solution to a kid misbehaving is sending them home for at home detention. Officers build a relationship with students but as kids that they are decide to play back it becomes a problem . I can say it’s a beautiful school and well kept though.

too much bullies, fighters, unsanitary school. this school is a mess! im in 7th grade and ive seen and heard bad reviews about this school. they really separated my real friends from me. now, i have to sit with bullies that gossip and tell me to k*** myself and tell me to shut up when i,m not doing anything. i know they have ears but, they have to boost up their bully policies because if they don't, then i wanna tell my momma that i wanna go back to my country where socialization is better. if i had one wish left, i would wish i would never see this school AGAIN because of these bullies!!!

My son who was sick was waiting at the door from the track to try and get in but you guys seem to don't listen because he was knocking on the door for a long time so if you guys don't give every single kid to get in I'm calling the the people to shut you down because this is unacceptable

When calling the school, either you get no answer or they pickup and then hang up on you. When and if you get her to answer at the front office, she is rude as can be! When I call to see if there is a delayed dismissal due to weather, she screams on the phone, "YES YES YES!" It's your job to answer the phone. Don't get mad because you may be overwhelmed with the amount of calls coming in and probably asking the same question.

This is probably one of the worst middle schools in the city of Orlando. There is no leadership, and the safety of the students is not a priority. The kids are bullied year-round, and nothing is done about it. The staff does not break up fights because they care more for thems then protecting the students.Students bring vapes, and weapons, have sex on the property and threaten the lives of others with little to no consequences. The no-contact contracts are a joke and a waste of time when nothing is done when they are broken. I will never know why there was an officer stationed at school when he allowed a non-parent of a student to come into the school and threaten another parent and their child in his presence. The only thing administration cares about is the rise of the school score, which is why half the things at the school go without being reported. The staff is a part of the problem as they encourage inappropriate behavior from their students. As well as bullying students who have gotten into fights on or off school grounds. The staff engages in student drama. The administration needs to focus more on resolving the issues here instead of hiding them to attain a better school rating. No wonder why teacher come and go.

My daughter has been enrolled at Union Park Middle school for alost 2 years. Some of her teachers tried to teach by insulting their students when they couldnt control their students. She is a fairly quiet student who doesn't say much to anyone, however, she's already been assaulted twice in one year. The school likes to turn a blind eye to problematic children. This has not been a good experience.

I enjoyed my time there but there can and should be a lot of improvements.

The school has dedicated and caring instructional and non-instructional staff. Unfortunately administration has driven over 40 teachers away including the Administrative Dean, the School Secretary, the Curriculum Specialist, the Math Coach, the Reading Coach, the Athletic Director, Math Department Head, Social Studies Department Head, 4 art teachers, the ESE Coordinator, the ISS Teacher, and the President of the PTSA. The new principal did not understand the needs of the school and relied upon input from an assistant principal, the same one that drove almost half the staff to leave. She should look at the works of Ruby Payne and other academic products relating to Low Income Environments to better understand the needs of her school. The lack of support from administration undermined the work done by teachers. It is difficult to garner respect from students when administration does not support it's teaches. Lots of want-to-be gang members who laugh at the "i'll give you another chance, just don't do that again" methods of discipline. Teachers administer lunch detentions or hand in referrals, but administration does not deem it necessary for the student to comply.

My daughter is in the 7th grade and has been here since the 6th. This is the worst school. The teachers mean well, however they have their work cut out for them. If parents do not involve themselves more or if the school and/or the principle does not involve herself more in what's going on in the school it will continue to go downhill. I have never met the principle and I have had several meetings here. I am taking my daughter out. This school does very little in the interest of bettering the school. I am a very disappointed parent.
