I will start by saying that the bilingual curriculum is great. Someof the staff are exceptional and truly make an effort to ensure students needs are met.. however there were some red flags. There were a few times that the gate was left open and parents were just walking in to grab their kids from the after school program. There were times we sent messages when we were on the way to pick up and still had to wait 20 mins for them to bring our child. The class sizes are too big and the staff can get a bit disorganized because of the amount of students they have to manage. It just wasn't a right fit unfortunately.

this school is a joke. 3/10 is a horrible rating. My child has excelled in reading at a grade level above what she is at currently but due to school policy they wont test her out to bump her up. so now she is wasting more of her time and is bored due to the lack of stimulus from the instructor.Homework is a joke. the minimum is required and teaches her nothing. I've complained to the instructor since September back to school night and nothing has changed. complained again in October, and nothing has changed. They expect my child to learn from an iPad, which begs to question if this is their new instructor why have teachers who wont teach?

This is my son's second year at this school. This is not our home school, but we choose to come for the dual immersion Spanish program. We are also very impressed with the parent involvement and emphasis on STEAM. They have after school enrichment clubs, a take home tablet with great learning apps for each student, and even a 3D printer and technology lab, just to name a few. Our teachers have been awesome so far and office staff is great! So glad we found this hidden gem.

California Elementary School is the only school in the Orange Unified School District with a Spanish Immersion Program, which we feel VERY fortunate to be a part of. My daughter has learned tremendous amounts of Spanish after starting the program. There is currently no PTA at this school, which will hopefully change in the near future. However, some PTA functions have been administered to by the office staff (campus-wide family hot dog days, ice cream social, fundraisers). The teachers here have been wonderful to both our children. As with any school, the experience is what you make of it. The more parent involvement in the classroom, the more opportunity the kids have for hands-on activities (especially for the younger ones). If you are considering this school for its Spanish Immersion program especially, take a look! You won't regret it when your child starts speaking fluently before turning 10 years old.

This school is ridiculous, not very friendly people working in the office, and every year they change the uniform colors, one year it's ok to wear a certain color the next year it's not! Bought my son 4 dark blue shirts for this year and now this year they can't wear that color. Will you make up your minds already I can't afford to keep buying them.

The Principal of California shows little respect for parents or students! She it seems to be only interested in test scores!
