If you care about academics & teaching your child responsibility by having it modeled by the adults around them, then stay clear of OBMHS. The investments being made are in athletics & not quality teachers/staff at all. Sending your child here places them with a group of staff, students & parents that are only supportive if you adapt to their way of life & ideologies - which appear to be sports above all & mediocrity at its finest in a real education. Lots of teacher & staff turnover, a school system that split from the County against the advisement of most, & made the transition to being a city school without a lot of planning or thought = disaster. Add in nepotism, politics between the school & the city, & favoritism - you can see where this leads. There’s a lot of praising of this school system on social, but beware if you’re from an area with great schools. This place will disappoint. The principal also doesn’t have a backbone with parents or effective student conflict management.
