Called in advance to take a tour of the daycare the director said to come by anytime. My husband and I decided to stop and was told very rudely by the grumpy old director that she is busy and couldn't give us a tour in an harshly manner.. we thought the atmosphere was very depressing anyways so we weren't disappointed that our child would not attend

My son has gone to this school for 2 years. Previously he attended a public elementary school. Currently the school runs about 4 traditional fundraisers a year and students have the ability to opt out for a fee. I love the school. All the teachers and staff are terriffic! The principal has always been very approachable and helpful. In previous reviews that are not as favorable, I see the dates are several years ago when the school was quite young. The school has become a well established and very organized institution. The students are expected to treat everyone with respect and to include everyone. There is no bullying or harrassing allowed in any form. In my opionion, the shool is a comfortable environment to get an exceptional christian education. And, FYI, the school is now called North River Christian Academy.

My child has been at Open Door for k-4, k5, and now first grade. They have just taken SAT, and can't wait for his outcome. He is getting a superior education. He is enthusiastic about learning. I would say he is reading on at least a 5th grade level! This is an amazing school, not to mention the good citizenship that is promoted there.
