Great school my grand daughter loves it and has a great family environment to it. This school serves a rural area and the test results are above average for the state.

Ive had some good ties and bad times at this school. Overall I love it. The teachers and staff and very kind and loving, have a good education and know what they are doing. I say its one of the best schools in Alabama

To all those who have posted before about how Dixie is a school that really welcomes you and feels like family- that's ONLY if you have lived in and your children have grown up in the area their entire lives. As a military family who has children who have attended multiple schools over the years- Dixie was a serious let down to us. From the very first day of orientation when the teacher did not even look at or acknowledge anybody in the classroom who they had not seen/met before (despite multiple attempts to get her attention), to halfway through the school year having emails continually ignored by the principal. My 5th grade son has had his teacher's political and religious views pushed on him, has had a discussion about abortion in his classroom, and has had the gideons invited into his classroom to distribute bibles to he and his classmates. If you're looking for education for your children, RUN from this school! If you're looking for an extension of the Christian church and typical "bible belt" mentality, then perhaps you'll fit in a bit better than we did.
