School administration changed for the worse, including faculty bringing a gun to campus, we believe our child was forcibly grabbed by an adult, and the school did not help us transfer. The administration did not listen and was condescending, rude, unhelpful, and discriminatory.

If I could shut down that school I would. Everyday I see children crying during dismissal time. When there’s an issue there is no response or resolution. If you want to talk to the principal about an issue you need to have an appointment which I understand but they never get back to you. The staff at the front office are rude.

I was not happy with this school administration or the staff. They want to educate the student academically instead of socially and emotionally. To fully educate a student all facets must be taken in consideration and they are not.

The leadership at this school sets everyone up for failure. The leadership at this school sets everyone in the whole community up for failure. Teachers and staff aren't supported by leadership. Front staff is heavily abused by leadership and undertrained, which trickles down and comes off as highly unprofessional interactions with the community and staff. Parents abuse staff TERRIBLY and Administrators do nothing about it, so they continue and those who push the hardest get whatever they want. Teachers do not stay because, other than the kids and a few families who are truly amazing, there is no reason to stay. The community doesn't take the school seriously, Leadership is talked about in the aacps community as highly unprofessional and undeserving the kids and staff. When staff leaves, even when staff gets great observations, they are given poor recommendations from some Administrators out of spite. Students don't know anyone in leadership(including the school counselor) because leadership wants nothing to do with them. They do not even say hello to students in the hall. Students with IEPs tend to clumped into classrooms, so other students truly have little chance to learn and the students with the IEPs do not have their least restrictive environment at all. Not a pleasant place at all to be AT ALL(as someone who has spent some time around the school as an employee in various capacities).

My daughters completed their first year at this school, and their teacher was wonderful Mrs. Jett and Mrs. O and Mrs Garvey really care about the kids and it shows. My daughters will be returning for 1st grade this year and I hope we will continue to have a positive experience at Seven Oaks

I had issues with bullying, initially, and was told to contact the school boards website. There is a form to complete and once this is done the Leadership at the school contacts you. I got a call the next day at 11 am and was told I would have a resolution before COB. At 3pm I got a call with a reasonable resolution. I have 2 children and in both cases the teachers were awesome. They made themselves available to me and they cared about my children. I have been treated kindly by the front office staff every time I attended the school. I have children who are in my care due to a hardship and the school Nurse helped me to get glasses and to figure out how to get medication that my child needed to take at school. The Nurse's office was even caring and considerate of my children. It has not been an easy year for the children but certainly I have to say that the Seven Oaks staff were like a village for me. I am truly grateful for their support!

My stepdaughter is being bullied by a boy in her class. My husband has spoken with the administration, did bully reports etc and nothing is being done by the school. I expect my children to be able to go to school to learn and feel safe in the learning environment but that's not the case here. The school offers to help nor do they try to help to protect those being bullied.

All four of my boys have attending this school. We have welcomed three pioneer principals, various teachers and a few counselors. Every one of my boys enjoy their experiences with their teachers. Each of them strive to instill character, morals and sound values in the children. They indeed work towards excellence. Communication with staff is great and the homework, projects and field trips are all relative to the instruction the children are learning. Undoubtedly my favorite elementary school!

Both of my children have gone to Seven Oaks. My son is now in 8th grade and my daughter is in her last year at Seven Oaks. Myself and my children have had great experiences since 2008. For the most part the teachers care, have open communication, differentiate, and understand each child's needs. I am very pleased with my children's education at Seven Oaks. I love the community school atmosphere as well.

Both of my sons have gone to this school. My oldest is in high school now and attended Seven Oaks from 2005-2010 when the school was newly built. All of his teachers helped him by setting high behavioral standards, which is what he needed most. My youngest son has completed Kindergarten and 1st grade at SO and his teachers have been excellent. They always communicated well by sending notes home, email, and fliers. My sons have really enjoyed their time at Seven Oaks.

All my children at one time or the other attended Seven Oaks Elementary from almost its inception till date. I did not care much for the school when my eldest started in 2005 because the teachers did not know how to care for my child, it was a gruesome time for us but as soon as the siblings started I have had nothing but fun times, with great teachers and activities that made me see the school in a different light. I am shocked at the review of 6 out of 10 because the students at least in my children's classes; kindergarten, third grade and fifth grade were brilliant and almost all the students in the classes received honors all through the year. The teachers also appeared to have fun doing their jobs and communication was great. People have complained about the principals through the years but I have not had any reason to be in contact with them. I believe the school has gone through 4 principals since 2005. A 6 of 10 is disappointing but my other children would still attend the school this year. It still remains a great school with caring teachers that know how to bring out the best from children who are ready and willing to learn. The school system as a whole in Anne Arundel would not get a great from me when it comes to handling challenging children. The whole experience with my first has been a nightmare.

My son is finishing his first year at Seven Oaks Elementary as a Kindergartener and this school has been AMAZING. He's grown leaps and bounds during this school year. The teachers he's had have been wonderful. He's learned so much through their STEM program (with Arts integration). We've also been impressed with the PTA and all that they do for the school community. If you're moving to the Odenton area, look no further than Seven Oaks. It is a wonderful community and school! We'll be sad when we eventually have to move!

I have two kids that attend this school and it has been nothing short of excellent. The staff members are very involved and do great with the kids. The facility is clean and only a few years old. Bottom line this is an excellent school and one of the best in the county.

I have two children that attend this school. A 5th grader and a 2nd grader. My children love the school and I love seven oaks. We have a strong community bond and a strong PTA. Parents are very involved and the staff keeps the children engaged. A lot has changed since the new administration but all in all their have been good positive changes. Seven oaks is the first STEAM school in Maryland and the new principal has been recognized for the changes he has made. The kids are eager to learn. My experience at seven oaks has been nothing but positives.
