I am proud to say that my parents helped found this school back in 1970 where there was nothing for these children, only doctors advising parents of Autistic children to institutionalize them. Fortunately for my brother, that did not happen. My parents along w/several others founded S.E.A.R.C.H. in the hopes of giving these children and their parents an opportunity to a better quality of life. My mother who is turning 90 years old this month was involved in fundraisers for the school including candy sales, dinner dances, etc. My father served as President of the school during its first year of inception. My father also fought to NOT have a fence put around S.E.A.R.C.H. Meadows in Freehold as the community, not knowing what Autism was, were fearful as they thought they would become a threat to the community. My father proved them wrong and was able to educate them. So genuinely proud of both my parents for their tirelessness and unrelenting stamina to continue on for these children. God bless.

A school that focuses on the autistic population should know that OT and PT should be done more than once a week. The administration should train staff better as well and offer more support to teachers and aids. Not enough stuff that truly understands autism. Some staff are lazy which is not ideal in such a population. Owners also write reviews to bump up ratings. Be cautious.

I went for a tour of this school and was very impressed by not only the layout of the campus but the way the curriculum is carried out during the day. These children are being constantly monitored and everything is written down. If you are looking for a school for you child that will keep you up to date on his/her progress then this is your school.

This school is a hidden gem. It is no wonder that their waiting list is so long. The teachers, staff are all so courteous, knowledgeable and give their best for their students. Our kids are lucky to be enrolled here in a place where they are finally understood with patience and dedication. Thank you.

The Search Day Program has really saved our son. The sending district where he was at before he was "out of control" and "unruly". Yet here he gets that one on one attention and is none of those things. He is more verbal now and gets up every morning wanting to go to school. I hope he never goes back to district.

There are a few BCBAs on-staff in the school building, including the vice-principal, and the home component person (who wears a couple hats), . for about 100 students. . . Search only utilizes empirically-proven, peer-reviewed methodologies - not anecdotal research; as of a couple years ago, sensory diets did not meet those criteria. . .

I would not recommend this school for kids on the spectrum. They only offer occupational therapy once per week in a group setting which is insufficient as these kids need a solid sensory diet. They also lack a BCBA in the school setting which is a big negative. They do offer one to help at home which makes no sense because they need this BCBA resource there at the school.

We love SEARCH! It has done so much for our son and has a great sibling group. No sending district can compair to the quality that is offered @ SEARCH!
