Wanamassa Elementary is nothing short of fantastic! The smallest of the three elementary schools in Ocean Township, its size provides faculty and students a close familiarity often missing in larger schools. This close knit environment encourages kids to shine, since most children are known by all staff. Shy kids feel visible and rough kids know they’re being monitored. The principal and staff put a premium on not only academic success (of which they exceed well beyond basic testing data), but also emphasize respect, kindness and making good choices. “Be a good citizen” is the mantra. Each teacher brings a unique, inventive and effective teaching style. So far throughout our two children’s time at Wanamassa, we have been thrilled with the quality of teaching and interest in student development from each teacher. Simply put, this little elementary school is a true gem and we feel extremely lucky our children’s first years of schooling were so positive. The love of learning, organizational skills and social acuity developed at Wanamassa provides a solid foundation for continued success in the upper grades and throughout life.

Wanamassa Elementary is the best elementary school in Ocean. Small and sincere. Sticking with important tried and true values, recess, library time, "DEAR" time; (Drop Everything and Read) Science Fair, interesting assemblies and much more.

Wanamassa is five star from Staff. to faculty!! A small, caring environment, very, VERY, positive. No cultural, or racial, lines drawn, each student is loved, and encouraged more than most people in today's society would believe. We are so lucky to have had our girl's foundation begin in Wanamassa Elementary! I can't say enough good things about the teachers we've had, the staff, even the Janitors are happy, flexible, NICE people! What a great experience, Wanamassa has been.
