the discrimination that i, as a person of color who is also a part of the lgbtq+ community, have gone through at this school is absolutely ridiculous. the students are disrespectful and close minded. i have received and know other students who have received death threats just for being who they are.

8.5/10 certain clubs and activities in high school are cliquey and there were certain teachers who do play favorites but who knows those aspects probably changed from when I was in high school. But that was my overall experience and it made me who I am today.

With a few exceptions, I have been very, very pleased with my son's time at Firelands HS. He came in as a very quiet, painfully shy kid with some issues all but one teacher really worked hard to understand. Now, he's a senior, president of the band, and so ready for the real world. If that's not a testament to FHS, I don't know what is. It's a family and a school. The friendliest kids I have ever been around. And the music programs are fantastic!
