Howard school merged with Roses in Concrete and is now called Oakland Academy of Knowledge.

I really love Howard. I’m so glad that I have this great school to send my kids to so close to my home in Kingston Estates. As a school that services mostly African American students, I’m grateful that my whole child is valued and serviced social-emotionally and academically. Plus I LOVE the Urban Scholars after school program headed by Ms Theresa. They receive HW help, play games and have tons of enrichment classes like cooking, soccer, dance, and martial arts. Also my oldest Son participated in the Living Jazz MLK tribute choir through Howard and his class was able to represent Howard in the OUSD oratorical competition. I’m very happy that my children have these opportunities to be exposed to different activities that may bloom into a future passion. My children are very proud of themselves and the high esteem they hold amongst the Howard community

A great school that is often overlooked when parents are school shopping. Howard is a great school where the children are nurtured and challenged to be the best scholars that they can be each day. My son thrives at Howard each day thanks to the entire staff. His confidence has grown as a student and a person.

The school environment is caring and friendly. The principal is always walking around making sure details are taken care of and she knows every student. The teachers and staff are very dedicated. The school works for students with special needs.

Howard Elementary School in Oakland, CA is a great school!! It has a great curriculum with an emphasis on targeted interventions for students that are behind in their academics.
