Talk to parents of children who have attended this school. Talk to the right parents and you will hear stories that will terrify you. The teachers at the school are great but are handcuffed due to having students with no control and the principals weak punishment policy. The office/school staff are just flat-out amazing. The principal? Awful. The superintendent? Awful the best thing that ever happened to local private schools are these two clueless administrators.

Terrible. Between taking away kindergarten naps that have been in effect since... well as long as anyone we've talked to can remember, (which is very harsh on young children, it's such a long day for a 5 year old since there are no half days anymore to ease children into school) to the overly counseling every situation, I'd say terrible. If there was a charter school we would remove our kids yesterday and put them in a charter school. Furthermore, the principal just laughs as if to be condescending when you express concerns to her if they are not the same views as hers. Wish there was a different principal as well as a different superintendent, because he does the same thing the principal does.

I have two children in Mt. Hope, and I love it! Every member of the staff works together for the benefit of the kids.

I have a second grader in this school who was a new student this year coming from another equally rated school. Her teacher was amazing. Very well organized, pushed the kids past the basic standards of the state, and was awesome with communication. Everything I asked her was responded to and addressed. My daughter was struggling with math when she came into this school and with the help of her amazing teacher-Mrs. Clements-she is able to do the work without a fight and tears. That itself is an accomplishment. I am unable to speak about the principal as I have not had any interaction as of yet. SO far-very impressed.

I have had my child in this school for two years and I don't feel my child has learned anything. They never have any homework and when I schedule meetings with the principle she just sits there and yawns as if she could care less. They send progress reports home saying that my child is behind compared to the other children but that comes home 3 months before school is out. Horrible experience at this school and horrible principle. Would definitely check references with other parents and schools before enrolling in this elementary school. We will be removing our child in the fall and will not return to mount hope. They need serious help!! FYI. Concerned Parent!!

Mount Hope is a very hands on school. Everyone is involved in helping my child learn and improve his grades; from his teacher to the principal to the speech teacher and everyone he comes in contact with in between. I love Mount Hope!
