i’m so glad this is my last year… like this school is absolute poop. the teachers are great, most of them are really good and are great at teaching. a lot of the issue is the curriculum. it just doesn’t have good lessons and isn’t very informational or helpful. i also believe a lot of the issue is the students. a lot of kids are very involved with drugs and aren’t very respectful to teachers and other students. there are a lot of fights. in class sometimes it’s hard to get things done because kids keep acting up and being disrespectful. i don’t believe it’s the teacher’s lack of classroom management fault, but the administration at this school… cough cough the principals.. they do absolutely nothing. they are a reason a lot of teachers quit/want to quit. teachers have literally told me that they love the school but hate the administrators because they do literally nothing to help students nor teachers. teachers cant send kids to the office if they are bad because the admin won’t do anything besides send them back to class. i don’t know what the principals are doing all day that is more important than making sure their students are getting the education they deserve, but alcott needs a new head principal specifically because she does not do anything to help the faculty or students. anyways this school kinda sucks oh well

It's the end of the first semester, and It's HELL! I've never moved schools and I never wanted to until now. First of all let's start off with the safety, there's fights every few weeks to few months, and the staff barely punishes the suspect. And also the school is infested with wasps, I saw a YELLOW JACKET WASP WHEN I WAS IN 6TH GRADE! Second of all the school is just mental torture, like I'm in special education classes for no reason and I overhear the most childish and cringiest things ever. This school's just not for me! Third of all this school just barely listens to parents, like I'm on a transfer and I've been having bus problems since I've been transferred. The bus problem is that the bus is EXTREMELY LATE, like I miss the pledge of allegiance, and the worst part is that it's the main reason why I've been just feeling so down! And finally fourth, the school barely keeps promises. It has this thing called the "Wildcat Way" which the school barely goes through with it, The Wildcat way is a pledge which the students and staff "follow" to make the school a "better" place. It's "We are respectful, responsible, and safe!" And the staff barely listens to that. They're not respectful because they only care about the ones they like, they're not responsible because they barely listen to parents, and DEFINITELY NOT EVEN CLOSE TO SAFE BECAUSE OF THE STUFF I SAID AT THE BEGINNING. Honestly I don't think that this school is gonna be in business for much longer. I think y'all need to check this school please!

Needs to not just have lectures on bullying or harassment, needs to have actual ways to find outside help. I am considering switching schools.

Alcott is a wonderful school. We've put in a transfer for the last 2 years. We we're originally in that district for elementary school and moved out of the school disctrict right before middle school. As long as her grades, attendance and behavior remains good they have approved it. The teacher's are amazing, she has remained honor roll and extension classes this year. I'm thankful for how well the staff is in helping the kids achieve a greater level of success.

We came to Alcott after Christmas Break. After being in another state from k-6th we have a lot to compare our new school with. I have to say as involved parent I am pleased with this school. As you go in the front door you can see they care about all the children. I love the way the teachers stay in contact with me and keep me informed about my child. We have to work together.

Alcott is terrible school. They care more about getting high test scores than teaching. There is a few good teachers but most of them are just horrible. The administators are terrible too, they would rather just torture the children than help them.

Alcott is an awesome school! The principals are easy to work with and take the time to listen to parents. My child had a great experience last year. Teachers knew him and worked together to make sure that he didn't fall through the cracks. It is the best middle school in Norman! Simply Exceptional!
