We're so grateful to be part of the BVWS community and see Waldorf education at its best for our preschooler. Time outdoors, routine and rhythm, leadership, responsibility, land endless love and care. make it such an incredible place for growth and childhood magic.

Boulder Valley Waldorf School is an incredible place for children to grow and learn. The teachers are amazing—compassionate, dedicated, and truly invested in each child's development. The school offers a well-rounded academic program, but what sets it apart is the hands-on, experiential approach to learning. This fosters imagination and curiosity, which are essential qualities for the next generation, especially as they grow up in a world increasingly influenced by AI. The nurturing environment allows children to explore, play, and learn at their own pace, without the pressures often found in traditional education. It's the perfect balance of academics, creativity, and real-life experiences, helping children thrive in an evolving world.

My kid attended the early childhood program for less than a day before the teacher started raising questions on her ability to transition and adapt to their "rhythms". We were willing to work with them to help guide them and support them in the process. But the teacher was incompetent and unwilling to support my child. The teacher was not available at pick-ups to speak to about my child's day and we had to set up meeting times for discussions, which is a lot for a kid in a preschool program. They were extremely unkind and unwilling to support my child with the transition and were complaining every day for a week before enrollment was terminated. Understand that young kids take time to adapt, and expecting a 3 year old to adapt to a new place, new faces and a new routine in just a few days is quite unreasonable. We lost a steep enrollment deposit of $1500 after one week of attendance. The teacher and the program are untrained and incapable of handling children with special needs, and also culturally insensitive. Its unsurprising that the children attending the school are 100% white. Despite the claim that the program had a flexible schedule allowing kids more time to explore and learn through play, they were quite unwilling to be flexible. I would stay clear of BVWS's early childhood program.

Our oldest son is about to finish his first year at BVWS in their "Transitional Kindergarten" classroom. We have been very happy with the program offered at BVWS and what sticks out to us the most is the sense of community that we have experienced this past year. We felt so welcomed from the very beginning from both teachers and families. Our son thrived in this environment; loving the outdoor exploration, developing strong relationships with both the students and teachers, and cultivating a strong desire to learn.

Boulder Valley Waldorf offers an inclusive, warm, nurturing environment for students to learn. I have a 3rd and 5th grader and they just love going to school! The parent community is also very connected and involved in the school. The campus is beautiful and offers lots of outdoor learning and play.

This school is incredible. In an age where most schools start pushing technology on children immediately, it was so refreshing to have teachers as opposed to apps providing instruction and feedback for math, reading, etc. And the teachers themselves are extraordinary. I can honestly say that every single teacher really knows and 'gets' my child. In addition, the 'hands-on' type curriculum was a game changer for my daughter's learning and retention.

We love this school! It's on a beautiful, spacious, and nature-filled campus. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and kind. And our child comes home happy. The kids spend a lot of time outside, their imaginations are nourished, and their social skills are practiced. We're so happy that we found BVWS.

In a world that is rushing to push kids into adulthood and pound them with media, why not give your children a chance to breathe and enjoy a beautiful education that celebrates childhood and inspires a love of learning?

My daughter has been at this school from 2nd - 8th grade. She has had excellent and caring teachers and has thrived. The Waldorf philosophy is holistic, working with the head, heart, and hands. The children use natural materials to develop their own lesson books and art rather than using pre-formatted textbooks. This way, the understanding goes much deeper. Music is an integral part of Waldorf whether singing, string instruments, or band instruments. Children develop strong memory and retention as they learn to recite versus and songs by heart rather than reading alone. Waldorf does not push reading in kindergarten and 1st grade, but encourages learning letters phonics and works toward more reading and writing by 3rd grade. As a result, on some standard tests, they appear behind the first couple years, but they rapidly catch up and pass public school testing by 4th or 5th grade. The curriculum is based on developmental stages that children go through rather than a top-down academic approach. This meets the child on multiple levels at each age and stage.

All three of my children attended BVWS, and we couldn't be more pleased. The faculty/staff is caring, enthusiastic, and inspirational. They environment cultivates a love for learning and delivers a positive educational experience, unlike many other schools. It's a warm, safe place with a wonderful community of families.

BVWS is full of some really amazing teachers. Sadly, the cost prohibits many from being able to attend this school. The financial aid for low income families is pretty pathetic. The school is therefore made up of very well to do families, which is predominantly white. There is no support for kids with learning disabilities. Students are taught in a meaningful way. It is sad that there is not more focus on social-emotional learning and understanding.

My daughter is in the Early Childhood program and is thriving. It's a mixed age classroom, which gives her the opportunity to play with peers her age while also developing and honing caretaking skills in helping with the younger children. I personally love how non-denomenational the school and classroom are. Yes, they acknowledge holidays, and even celebrate them to a degree, but it's more broadly focused on the cycles of nature and honoring the world around them. I've seen my daughter's wonder and appreciation for nature expand over the past couple of months. Her teacher, Mrs. Rachel, is wonderful- the perfect balance of loving and firm. She holds the children to appropriate expectations for their age. We've even seen an increase in our daughter's willingness to help out around the house more. Can't say enough great things about this school and our experience thus far.

We love BVWS! The teachers and staff are kind and caring. They take safety measures during covid seriously and it shows by the lack of spread within cohorts. I feel safe sending my toddler here. The outdoor experience for the kiddos is incredible!!

Our daughter is in the early childhood program and she loves it. She commonly tells me she wishes it was a school day on days she doesn't attend. The program provides much more outdoor time than any other program we looked into and overall we are very happy with the school.

Our daughter will be graduating out of Boulder Valley Waldorf School this Spring. We have been with the school for nine years and it could not have prepared her better to enter high school and for life. Academically, she is able to step right into honors classes at her high school, loves both the arts and the sciences, is keen to learn, and is curious about the world and people around her. I believe so much of this is a result of the Waldorf approach in general and Boulder Valley Waldorf School specifically. Because the teachers there take a deep interest in each child as an individual, socially and emotionally, our daughter learned to trust herself and value her own uniqueness. She learned to navigate conflict and work as a team with her classmates. As a family we are all sad to be finishing our time at this school. And we are ever grateful for the enriching experience there, we could not have asked for more.

This is an incredible school. I have 2 boys that attend and I feel both children are really challenged to grow as people and scholars. The teachers wealth of knowledge in regard to child development as well as their dedication to providing a multi sensory approach to learning is wonderful. The rich foundation in a full liberal arts curriculum with handwork, arts, music, and practical learning ensures that my children do not need to spend their after school hours developing their interests and talents. In addition the dedication to not only ensure that my children have a well rounded academic education but are also developing a strong moral compass and social etiquette. There is a strong community of families who support each other.

This school has been so wonderful for our two sons. We really benefit from the small class sizes as well as the commitment of the school to integrate art, music, theater, and languages into the curriculum (even in the early grades). As someone who strongly believes in the benefit of a well rounded liberal arts education, I love that these disciplines are appreciated for their intrinsic worth and not regarded as "specials." My kids get to spend a lot of time outdoors and love having the opportunity to help on the working farm.

Our son has vision challenges and the teacher has really gotten behind the therapies that can help him. She has changed the way she teaches him, let him sit with another student that can help. Its been an amazing experience to witness. I'm really glad we found this little gem of a school and we love the community, too. Its just like a big extended family experience when everyone is together.
