The school employees seem like a bunch of monkeys trying to hump a football! Favoritism is a large part of the inner workings of the school as well. As long as you're alumni and donate you're good but all in all I'd rather home school my kids.

I am an alumni of NHS, overall it was a great experience but there’s a lot they don’t focus on to get students ready for life after high school. They really push going to college but a lot of younger folks don’t really know about trades. If you go to TCTC you’re kind of shut out from the school. They’re programs are alright but they mainly focus on football which most seasons don’t get very far. When there is other sports who more than outweigh football numbers. The girls and boys soccer is absolutely amazing. They always have greats seasons and their coaches are fantastic. If you think about enrolling your child. I suggest a sport either soccer or softball/baseball.

Niles McKinley is terrible. The teachers don't show much interest and it seems like they are there simply because they are getting paid. I went to Niles for two years before deciding to get home schooled. The school is terrible at controlling things such as bullying, drugs, people even bring alcohol to the school. They highly favor students that participate in athletics. It's overall not an enjoyable place to be, no air condition, the heat barely works. If you are looking for you kid to have an enjoyable, trouble free, good education, don't send them here.

I'm very dissappointed that trying to look up a scheduled events date, Homecoming, the Calendar of events has not been updated since last year. Additionally, there is not an email to the school, administration, or school board to direct these questions to.

Niles definitely isn't an amazing school, but it's got a lot of wonderful qualities. There are plenty of programs for the students such as computer club, speech and debate, drama, choir, Art and VisCom. As a former student, I became close to a few teachers because they treated us as young adults and not children and to me, that's a great thing to have in a high school. The bathrooms are horrible and need to be fixed. Not all the sinks have mirrors, theres tons of graffiti everywhere and most of the doors don't stay closed.

I loved being a Red Dragon! There is such a proud tradition at Niles McKinley. You won't find a better school any where.
