My children have Came a long way due to Gidney Avenue school. They have excellent programs that each of the kids can choose to be involved in regarding their own interest.

GAMS has been a great school for those students who have involved parents and care about their own education. I have had 2 children who went through GAMS. They had many programs at that time-hands on science museum, TV studio run by students, school store, post office for children. I understand some of those programs have suffered due to district budget cuts. My children still remember their teachers fondly. Teachers were very supportive through death in family and other issues. They advocate for the children, although sometimes fighting a losing battle against the system.

I am truly disappointed with the way the administration has handled certain situations involving the behavior of the children. It seems to me that there is an abundance of disruptions on a daily basis that take precedent over education. There are many GREAT teachers at this school, however there are MANY children that have behavior problems and the problems are not addressed properly. The teachers try very hard but it is difficult to conduct a productive learning day when the kids are constantly disruptive. They should spend more money on getting teacher assistance in this school....it would make a big difference.

My 2 kids attended Gams.. very happy with teachers and staff. They are truly dedicated to teach the kids and provide all the necessary help. Of course when parents are involve in the kids education it makes a great difference.
