Hoover School has always been a very special place. It gets a bad rap from sites like this. The school has the highest population of SES and IEP students in the district. This effects the overall scoring of the students. Hoover has produced 3 perfect ACT scoring students in the last 6 years! The teaching staff and principal are nothing short of incredible. Their dedication, support and love of education is infectious! Unfortunately the district(Mary Pfieffer) fought hard to close this school in 2024. The reasoning behind it was weak and riddled with hidden agendas. Once the vote was squeaked through, the top two district administrators bailed ship fast. It's a shame this wonderful school is being shuttered for such ridiculous reasons.

My daughter finished her 1st grade here and she is always happy about the school and the staff.

My son is in 1st grade at Hoover. He was bullied and painted as the bully for defending himself in kindergarten and for 1st he was put in a classroom with 2 teachers and when they were gone for a couple months over winter, yet another teacher and now he is so off track that he has to have a major intervention from the doctors and school. I voiced my opinion on 'job sharing' several times since the start of the year and now that my son has slipped through the cracks, they tell me they are sorry and it should have never happened. My poor little boy is so lost because of this horrible situation that this school put him in. It was irresponsible and negligent at the very least!

I have had kids in several Neenah elementary schools and Hoover is by far the best! Regardless of the population or socioeconomic status of the kids- this school has some of the most dedicated and special staff around. It has extraordinary leadership with it's principal. Their committment to making it a respectful and healthy learning environment is wonderful! They are relentless in believing that every child can be successful ! Bravo to the Hoover Huskie staff!

The teachers are dedicated and caring. The principal is a good leader and easy to talk to. The PTO is gaining strength and has several successful, fun fundraisers each year to support classroom activites, technology, and field trips. Family events like "Boo Bash", the Spaghetti Dinner/Bingo, and many CLC nights are fun and well attended. Free/reduced numbers listed in 2007 comment below are no longer accurate.
