We are disappointed with the world language program. There isn t much studying going on, and our kids don t seem to learning much. We were led to expect much more.

A few years ago I would have given a high grade to Nicolet Elementary, but not today. The Menasha School District as a whole is spiraling downward, and is now ranked among the lowest 10% of school districts in Wisconsin. There are many reason for the rapid decline: 1. Administrators and school board members who rarely visit the schools or engage with the community. 2. Principals who don't seem to know what is happening in the classrooms. 3. Too many low-income families who are not focused on education, 4. A "no homework" policy that is quickly eroding the integrity of the entire district. 5. A "brain drain": Most of the medium-to-high caliber students have left Menasha and transferred to parochial schools, as well as to the public schools in Neenah, Appleton and Kimberly via open enrollment.
