My child simply adores going to school! The philosophy of teaching focuses more on guidance and coaching, which allows kids to develop faster their independence. The community is amazing, so down to earth, without the unnecessary ‘noise’ common to other schools!

We have attended DMS for the last 5 years and we wouldn’t want our kids going anywhere else for their education. The individualized attention each child receives, and the independence each is encouraged to attain are beyond any experiences we’ve had at other schools. The academics, as well as the field trips, help to foster a lifetime love of learning and friendship. The Upper Elementary team knows our children almost as well as we do!

Our children attended DuPage Montessori School, daughter from grade 4-8 and son from grade 1-8. We couldn't have been happier with the program! The teachers are very passionate and caring. The curriculum is tailored, instruction is individualized and the work is structured making sure that students are engaged and challenged. The materials/works are creative, ensuring difficult concepts are grasped easily. Teachers care not only about the academic growth, but also the social-emotional growth. Since teachers and students stay together for more than a year, it allows for the teachers to see the students grow and the students to forge strong connections with the teachers.Physical education - both outdoors and indoors - is emphasized. Field trips, theater/drama, music, and Spanish ensure overall development. The school has provided a very strong foundation for our rising high-school senior and freshman.

Just finished our 4th year at DMS and loved it! My son attended from 5th to 8th grade (after attending a local public school from K-4th) and it was the best experience for us. Many feel that Montessori isn't structured, but that's completely not the case. He was responsible for finishing his weekly work plan which has given him agency in his life: learning how to prioritize his time and meet expectations of his teachers. Sure, he was always more excited his interests (math mostly) but also never fell behind on other subjects that weren't his favorites (writing). He was able to explore what works best for his learning instead of the big box approach from public schools where he was getting lost and becoming disinterested in learning. I have no complains about our public school, it just wasn't the right fit for him. The small class size also gave more individualized attention from the teachers who really got to know my son. The pandemic was difficult for everyone but DMS was able to keep classes going online and even going back to in person sessions long before the public schools. The safety that the school demonstrated for the kids and teachers was excellent. Especially trying to keep celebrations going within the classes with Covid restrictions. Our only regret is not starting at DMS sooner. It was a great fit for our family.

Whatever made it a good school in previous years, its no longer present. This is an awful school. Merely a Montessori in name for money making purposes. The leadership is a disgrace and they way they handled the pandemic has been nothing short of incompetent. The leadership of the school is a disgrace and the only time you hear from them is for fee reminders. They make very little attempts to to show families they care. Highly disorganised (shocking for a Montessori), little to no communication with families unless it is about fees, lacking passion, inspiration and teaching children. I could list out all the examples why not to enrol your child in this school, but i’ll just say that you would be severely underwhelmed if you do.

In all honesty this is not a private school you would want to send your children.Look elsewhere there are plenty of other options in the area. I could list all of the things that make this school simply an office building with little cash cows walking around. The office staff including the dean make no attempts at being personable, pleasant or sociable unless you are coming in for a tour or writing a check. The academic part is fairly good however the bullying that's allowed by students, the constant distractions from disruptive students and the passive aggressive nature of the head teachers make it hard to stomach the tuition. I could write a lot more but trust me just move on.

The staff in this school or at the top of their game highly educated and passionate about educating all students. The building is modern and the Outdoor space is optimal. Students love it and you will too.

Horrible. The school should be investigated by children and family services for safety and well being of the children. My child had a 103 fever. The teacher ignored him as if he was nonexistent. This school is unsafe in many regards!

I have two girls that have been part of the Montessori schools since they were 6 weeks old. What can I say about the Montessori teaching? I love it. They moved to DuPage Montessori about 3 years ago and the teachers at all levels are just fantastic. They deeply care for the kids. The children's knowledge surpass that of any of their counterparts in public school. That being said, just like any other school parents also need to reinforce at home what the kids absorb at school. They truly learn to become leaders at an early age. The facilities are top notch, I honestly do not have anything bad to say about either the school, the administrative staff and the teachers. If you are looking for a different school for your children do not hesitate contacting DuPage Montessori, you will not regret it. And if you have questions about the school or the Montessori way of teaching from a parent, please contact me.

We are proud parents of two children who have been attending DuPage Montessori for the past 6 years.. This has been an incredible experience for our kids. They love the learning, nurturing and caring environment at the school. We truly believe in montessori methodology as the kids learn and master the concepts using concrete techniques. We're happy that DuPage Montessori has exceeded our expectations. The Teachers at Dupage montessori are extremely dedicated, passionate and love sharing their knowledge with the students. They go above and beyond to make the child feel comfortable, demonstrate science experiments, nature walks with kids and countless productive projects. While the children may be advancing academically, they are also taught to develop as a person and become leaders, be respectful, Good character, compassionate and friendly through various community building exercises. A lot of success is also credited to Thought leadership, Management and friendly staff who encourage a freedom and responsibility culture where everyone(Teachers, Students) thrives. This school deserves a high-five!!

My children have been in the pre-school program for 2 years and have built a great foundation. At DuPage Montessori, your children and your family are not treated like a number. The teachers and administrators really care about the kids as if they are an extension of their own family. My kids have had a wonderful experience and they have forged strong friendships and relationships.

My son is just leaving DMS after two wonderful years of growth and development. He has been in the 3-6 year old class with Ms. Chris and Ms. Prahba. He will now be starting kindergarten and his abilities are far advanced from where he would be if we would have kept him in a typical daycare setting. The one-on-one attention and adaption to individual abilities is unmatched! Outside of academics, there is much personal responsibility placed on each child and an overall environment for respect (both teachers and peers). I feel my child has been provided an excellent well-rounded base that will last him a lifetime!

I am a former parent of children that attended both campuses. This is an excellent school! I have never met such caring, attentive, and supportive teachers and administrators. This school is a model of how education should be in this country.

My 5-year-old is entering his third year in the 3-6 program, and I have a duaghter the todder program. We are very happy with the school. I'd like to respond to a few of the comments below and add some of my own. --Broad age range within a classroom: This is typical of many montessori schools. I find it creates a flexible learning environment where younger children are motivated by their older peers, and the older students master the material they've learned by "teaching" the younger students. (This happens during "partner time" and doesn't replace teacher instruction.) --Flexible learning approach: One of the things that I love about the montessori approach and this particular school is its flexibility towards the learning styles and levels of different students. When my son was ready to read, they started him on Bob books. He's slower to write, so they are finding other, OT-like approaches to strengthening his grip and coordination. --Range of activities: I actually find there are a lot of activities available. If a child is doing a lot of a particular activity, it is because she is working to master it (and become more focused, which is key to doing other work.)

I currently have two children enrolled at Dupage Montessori. My daughter is in Kindergarten and my son has recently turned three and is in the 3-6 program. Both of my children are excelling academically and socially because of the Montessori method of teaching and challenging cirriculum. The staff is wonderful, knowledgable and at the same time nurturing. Parent involvment is encouraged and DMS has an excellent PTF staff. DMS also offers many extracirricular programs at the school such as art classes and piano lessons. If you looking for a school that exemplifies strong community, emphasis on leadership and individuality and challenging academic cirriculum, than DMS is the great choice!

This review is only and strictly for the lower elementary and in no way meant for the 3-6 and upper elementary. The lower elementary program uses strict curriculum, similar to traditional schools and just uses Montessori materials for the same. The teachers are new and I don't think they have the energy and passion which I had seen while my children were in 3-6. The rigid curriculum, inability of the teachers to identify strengths and weaknesses of the children and plan individualized courses is the biggest minus. It seems to me that the teachers just follow the rigid curriculum. The lower elementary has 32-35 children with one teacher and 2 assistants. So, I would consider it a ratio of 1:35. If you want to select this school for individualized attention and the true benefit of montessori, then I will not recommend this. The upper elementary looks very promising, as the teacher is very passionate. But, can I hang around till then, I don't know.

DMS has dedicated and talented teachers. My two children have been at the school for 3 years and every teacher they've had has been focused on my children and their growth and development. My children are now in 3-6 and lower elementary and both are thriving and love the school work they do. The teachers regularly talk with me about how my children are doing so if there are issues we address them quickly. The school has had some changes in the office staff which is positive. From a parent involvement perspective, I've seen an increased interest in parents getting involved. I think the challenge is the school draws a lot of people from different - often far away areas - and that doesn't always lend itself for ongoing parent involvement. All in all the teachers and staff are great educators who are passionate about what they do and the directors are equally as passionate and dedicated.

DMS has the makings of a great school, but do your research before choosing a Montessori to see if it's AMI certified or International Montessori certified, and learn the difference. DMS is an AMI school - therefore the elementary portion is trending towards more 'traditional' school, which isn't why I was paying $$ for my children to attend. My two children attended DMS for 2 years. The 3-6 year old classrooms have amazing head teachers who are all very experienced and most have been with the school for a number of years. The lower-elementary classroom (gr. 1-3) was almost completely new staff this year. I have nothing to compare it too since we weren't in LE last year, however, while the head teachers are great teachers, and really nice people, they came from 'traditional school' backgrounds - which as the year went on, you could feel those 'traditional' rules and guidelines creeping into the classroom. Getting parents to participate in school events, fundraisers, etc. is like pulling teeth. This school has a decidedly "daycare" feel from the parent involvement side. The office staff can be less then helpful at times as well.
