I have been involved in the school since it opened in 2003. There have been many changes over the years, but most recently, the transformation due to the magnet grant and the International Baccalaureate program has been astounding. Harvest is truly a hidden gem in Napa.

I have a daughter that went for 3 years to HMS and had a wonderful experience. She went into this school as a motivated and solid student and came out on Promotion Day even more so. The teachers "teach to the student" and promote IB Traits....traits we should all possess. She is now continuing on at the high school level with a strong foundation from Harvest and it's staff. My son now goes to Harvest, starting out, and is loving his classes and time here so far. He had a lot of diversity in his day and classrooms and peers. He is a strong kid academically and socially and finds that this school is a great fit for him. Like all schools there are rough spots, but the new Administration is SPOT ON and cares for these students and this school. Harvest is a Magnet Middle School...the only one in Napa. What a great place to educate your children! FIVE STARS for sure!

Three years at this school. Don't know why, I guess I kept hoping they would get better. The administration is a joke, the kids are horrible and the teachers are useless. They keep changing the way you can keep up with your child's progress but never use the software. The staff is really uneducated or at least act that way. I don't believe anyone there really cares about education just how many grants and how much money they can get the school. You can educate on blackboards if you are a good teacher, you can make anything work if your true will is to help the kids. I saved my judgements until the second year now with all authority I completely believe this school is a complete waste of time, effort and resources. Such a shame.

I am very unsatisfied with Harvest. My child started here in August. The communication between parent and faculty is nil! Email, pone calls, doesn't matter, no response. The student led conferences were a joke, in my opinion just another reason for the teachers to not be involved in parent communication. What are they getting paid for? If you are serous about your child's education, don't place them in this school.

Please don't take your kid here. Most students there are disrespectful and violent (NOT ALL). The school participates in events such as "National Booty Day". Would you like to have your daughter's rear slapped or grabbed? Or her breasts? I think not. Most teachers there are pretty cool. I would recommend River. It's small and there's a limited amount of space but it's pretty good. I go there and I know a lot about Harvest and that's the stuff that happens. (By the way River and Harvest share a campus that's how I know)

School is great. Teachers are wonderful, but all of this is in spite of the worst principal I have ever encountered. She is obsessed with students chewing gum. When parents have issues she acts interested then files the complaint straight to the trash. We had two group meetings with other parents and the principal about a Spanish teacher and each parent had follow up to do to make the program work. We all donated time to help make the program work. After we all did our part we heard no follow up from the principal. It was horrid and a waste of our considerable limited time.
