My kids have been attending Landels for the last couple of years and I’m delighted to say that we have had such a positive experience with Landels School. As we experienced the teachers and staff are highly dedicated and incredibly caring. They create a nurturing environment for all the kids to foster their academic and personal growth. We found the curriculum well-balanced. This engaging curriculum has a good emphasis on academic growth (Math, writing, reading, ELD) which results in high test scores school-wide. Also, all classes, K-5, have extracurricular activities like STEAM, Art, and Music classes throughout the school year. Moreover, we observed that the Landels school system is fostering character development alongside academic growth which is crucial for creating well-rounded individuals. What we love the most is a strong sense of community in our school. As one engaging Mom, I truly can say that our school has a welcoming and nurturing place for all its students. With a number of events, meetings, playdates, and gatherings throughout the year all families come together frequently which has a big positive impact on our school community. This sense of belonging and shared experiences is essential not just for students but also for their families.

This is an incredible school and a amazing parent community. I would HIGHLY encourage any parent considering this school to directly review the school's test scores and academic progress, rather than relying on the opaque and misleading scores on Greatschools.

My twins are in second grade at Landels so we have had more than 2 years of experience with the school. It is one of the top performing schools in California with excellent student achievement and progress. Furthermore, parents are very involved in school activities contributing their time and resources. The PTA raises significant amount of funds to fund school supplies and activities. All of the teachers are wonderful and nurturing - they consistently encourage academic achievement and at the same time focus on social emotional learning. It truly is a wonderful community. And this is also why I am outraged by the score our school has received at greatschools.org - it certainly doesn't not reflect the conditions of the school and is highly misleading. I highly encourage greatschools to validate their so-called proprietary algorithm so that the score can accurately reflect the reality. So overall, I am extremely satisfied with Landels but extremely disappointed by greatschools.org

We've been at Landels for two years. Our kid has thrived in the active, supportive teaching and parent community. The focus on learning core academics as well at SEL has been exceptional. We are thankful for the excellent teachers, staff, and engaged and strong leadership from the principal.

Best public school in MV. Due to the unique location and district, Landels has ended up being one of the sought-after schools in the entire MVLA school district and the staff and infrastructure are phenomenal. Small class sizes, caring teachers and culture of preparedness for tech and coding has made this one of the best school experiences for us ever. Go Lions!

Landels was a great school several years ago, and has done a decent job handling the pandemic. There are some great teachers at the school, such as Mrs. Parry, Mrs. Deritis and Mrs. Wester, and lots of new teachers. However this year 2021 the school has went downhill. They have hired new incompetent teachers, and the new principal (Mr. Dolmans) seems inexperienced in handling isolated situations, that has resulted in new rules poorly communicated to the kids, and creating fearful an unwelcoming environment.

It's an extremely good school. Ignore the overall rating, which is meaningless. Landels has a high fraction of low income and minority students, so the student body has been hit harder by the Silicon Valley housing crisis than many other schools. The low equity rating of the school reflects only the fact that the low-income struggle is getting harder in the area. If you break down the success numbers by demographic, you'll actually find little academic variance between the better schools in Mountain View.Where Landels really shines is in the community and the atmosphere.

It's a great school, all the staff, teachers and the principal are kind and caring. The community is really involved with the learning process. We are new in the country and they made us feel welcome immediately. I loved the respectful and multicultural environment that we have here. My child loved go to the school . He learned a lot this year, Math, Reading, Writting, Music, Art. He feels proud to be a Landels Lion.

Mostly a great school. Right up until the MVWSD Superintendent reassigned (fired) Principal Steve Chesley - along with several other principals based soley on the ratings they received on GreatSchools.org . Unfortunately those ratings do not accurately account for demographics - a cursory look at the ratings shows they are higly correlated economic status. With families around the school being a mix of high-income Google/Facebook employees and low-income families that are being financially squeezed by the recent sharp increase in housing costs. The high-income families have the time and resources to improve their childrens' educations while the low-income families do not. The struggle for teachers to include students that do not have great education support at home slows down those that do.

Great school, with a caring and involved school community. Very diverse culturally, socioeconomically, and effectively includes students with disabilities. My children's experience here will give them both the academic and social skills that will allow them to thrive in all environments.

This school creates an inclusive and caring environment with a healthy balance/focus on both academics and the overall well being/mental health of the child. My children have thrived in this school with experienced and caring staff who truly see the whole child and thus represent in it's best form a child centered approach to teaching. This policy/approach enables the child to develop a sense of self and feel safe doing so. I would recommend this school without hesitation!

Our daughter visited this school for 2 years. She`s excited about the attitude and we`re happy with her academic level. The schools teachers provide both emotional and professional support, the kids are nice. We admired our previous principal Ms. Mizel and the new one is keen on improving. We hope it`ll be estimated as one the best schools in the state of California soon.

I have 2 children at Landels. I love the diversity here and the teaching staff are wonderful. A caring environment that teaches not only academia but also focuses on strengths while helping with areas of difficulty.

Edith Landels is a great school. I like how parents are very much involved with the school and classrooms. The teachers do a great job with the students. I hope we can place higher in testing and scores though. Right now I believe its in the middle or right above the middle level. Overall, I've had a good experience at Landels.

My son has progressed tremendously in Kindergarten, a big thanks to Mrs. Spence. His reading, writing and math skills all have improved so much since he started Kinder. In addition to academics, the class has been to several field trips including Mtn. View Performing Arts Center, Deer Hollow Farm and Sunnyvale Community Theater to watch plays. Overall, I am very satisfied with the school's academics and extra curricular activities.
