We couldn't be happier with the entire staff. Everyone cares deeply about the students and their superb quality teaching shows through the children's work. My child has not met a teacher or other staff member she doesn't like. Everyone has defined professionalism in every way and they go out of their way to create an outstanding learning environment. Great job Everyone!

What I experienced at this school was inerporet talk to the classmates/students like talking about how cute there areas and looking at girls inerproretly and it can and it will miss u up and makes u feel uncomfortable in this school and they dont help u with bullying and most of the salff there are unfair with classmates/students and there free lunches are ether moldy or cold or put green beens and carrots into random lunches

Some teachers can talk about some body parts about u or someone and the kids could be sitting there hearing there teachers talk about the kids body parts in front of you out loud so if you don't what your child to not feel secure in school then I suggest that you don't bring them here

This school has no foreign language & general feeling of the school is uncaring.. lack challenging electives..Small narrow minded people here..

Mount Vernon has a really good envirornment for kids. There are some cliques but it doesn't get too out of hand. Most of the teachers are absolutely great and some are a bit iffy but still quite nice (once you get on their good side) Im a student going into 8th grade and I find my school experience much better than the one I had when I lived in Chicago. I love this school and I've learned so much in the past 2 years. Even though the rating on GreatSchools is a 5 don't underestimate it. Mount Vernon has a wonderful school system and good teachers that teach. LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!
