Under the leadership of principal Matt Caputo, Fredericktown Middle School is doing a great job with academics. He genuinely cares about students, families and the staff with whom he works!

Fredericktown Middle school. My daughter has been attending Fredericktown since Kindergarten. I feel that everything was fine until all of the grades and buildings were combined. When the one friend / guidance counselor that our children had at school passed away ; I guess nobody on the school board felt it was important enough to maybe utilize some of that money that was used to build that beautiful new building and maybe hire a few new counselors to help out our youth ! How many counselors do we have ? C'mon guys.. You make me sick !

The bullying and click issue unfortunately is left so far unchecked in the lower grades the teachers actually validate it. One teacher said "good job! to my son, hey everyone make sure you give him a high five in hallway and say thanks for ruining the project for everyone!. (this was a cynical incitement to bullying by a teacher). Kids would constantly verbally abuse and hit other kids and my sons teacher was so out of it she was confused about which child she was talking about at the teacher conference, we had to keep going wait thats not my sons when whe tried to show us a project?? The elementary and middle school are disasters but I have heard from many the the high school tries hard to pull it back out of the toilet. By the way they have one guidance counselor for the entire district k-12. My children no longer go that fredericktown schools.

I would agree with the parent from 2004 regarding sports, but I also feel that most all schools today are way too focused on sports. It is probably no different in colleges. However, I do agree that this school has a serious bullying problem that is not being addressed properly. My son is the subject of this bullying and has been all school year. At one point one of his teachers was even involved!! Now, as we have given him advice to solve these problems, they subside and reappear, but frankly I am FED UP with the unprofessional nature these teachers at this school are giving our kids! Now, it is not all teachers, but it seems like more and more at the upper levels, this is the case. For a second year in a row, I am seriously considering home schooling or switching schools altogether.

Wow.......What a review . My kids are not in sports and they do not bully or have not been bullied other than your average picked on . The parent that has posted there review in 2004 seems very unhappy and maybe they should have taken it to the school board. I do like Fredericktown Schools and yes they do like there sports, But this is still a great learning school, read the state reviews.
