With the new curriculum beginning in the upcoming school year (starting 2022), I would think twice about enrolling in MHSD. It seems to be changing to gender identity, diversity and inclusion, which in my opinion, doesn’t set up any kids for the reality of the real world once they have completed school. All required subjects have taken a back seat to new curriculum. I would strongly consider home schooling or a totally different school district if you have young children.

For being a smaller public High School, Mount Horeb offers a large variety of after school clubs and activities in addition to athletics. Teachers go out of their way to make sure students are learning, feel safe, & are having fun!

I graduated from Mount Horeb High School a few years ago and now just finishing up an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota. I found a job in my field and will be working right after graduation. Mount Horeb helped me get to the point where I am today with excellent teachers. They offered many classes to continually challenge me academically and prepare me for college. I participated in many extracurricular activities such as the musical and many different athletic teams. All the extracurriculars activities were led by excellent instructors or coaches.

I honestly cannot stand this school, except for the music department. The teachers favor the students whose families have lived here for generations. Most people here are close minded and have no ambition and if you do, you're an outcast. This is not a high school for an artist or someone who wants intellectual stimulation.

I hate this school , its not diverse enough. &+ alot of people are close minded. Its just way too small for my likings.
