Overall, it is an amazing school. I do feel that I may have to be my daughters voice and advocate to stop being harassed during recess. Possibly there is not enough staff at these times to oversee the bullying happening during breaks outside.

I have been a parent at Lena Whitmore for eleven years. This school is a shining example of great education. The principle is extremely committed to building a great educational environment, and creates an environment where teachers are supported and the kids are loved. With this foundation, the kids are able to excel! Many of the teachers here make teaching the children their whole life, and are constantly working to improve their already great curriculum. They take the time to focus on the needs of individual students. Another amazing thing about Lena is that in all the years my children have attended Lena, there has been zero bullying. I think this is due to the wonderful loving supportive atmosphere there, the diligent efforts of the councilor there, and to the pairing up of older and younger kids that builds relationships of trust. Lena works hard to prepare the children for Junior High, and does an excellent job of preparing them for the school work there, and giving them a solid base with a strong self image. Several of our kids have participated in the Gifted and Talented Program, which is also exceptional.

I am a former student at this school and would like to thank any Lena teachers who read this review. You have all been great examples for me in my formative years. I don't remember once having reason to question the devotion and pride that you all have in your work--not in the seven years I attended.
