Teachers don’t have degrees nor are qualified for early childhood education. The good reviews are posted primarily by parents whose children attend due to behavioral or learning issues and with so few options in this very small town, his is basically a “last chance” school. We discovered Beverly Wolff had isolated one of our children at 5 years old, every day for nearly two months during nap time, in a room alone by himself and unsupervised, because of “difficulty settling in”, but was not communicated. One family took pictures of preschool children crawling on the floor of the main stairwell in the building while being supervised by staff, only to be kicked out of the school in a vindictive fashion, by Beverly Wolff, after sharing the photos with other parents to bring awareness to the lack of judgment. The school and several board members including Sarah Scholes and Laylah Sullivan, even threatened to have the police take custody of their child if not picked up immediately that day from the school upon learning of the photos. We were dismayed by the lack of character and professionalism of this “school”.

The school has some dedicated teachers and a solid program. I worked there for a few years and overall had a great experience. The school is true to Montessori philosophy and the lead teachers are certified. Parents should know, however, that it is possible a teacher will teach genderfluid concepts to the students outside of the prescribed curriculum. It was disappointing to realize this had been explicitly discussed by the teacher with the students without parental notification or permission, and there was no attempt to introduce the concepts in an age-appropriate manner. I understand that some people in the LGBTQ community think it appropriate to share these concepts at all ages; I don't, and a truly inclusive school would recognize that some parents may share that belief and work with them.

My children have attended this school for the past 8 years, from the toddler level through the elementary. We have experienced amazing, caring teachers and high-level education. Highly recommend!

My girls have attended the Montessori School of Pullman since they were three years old. One is now 7 and the other is 5. I can’t express how happy my husband and I are that we were able to give our kids this experience and makes sure they developed such a strong foundation for life. The school is amazing and helps my girls to grow both their academic and life skills. It has been wonderful to see them so happy about learning and going to school. The teachers are wonderful and really help the kids grow as individuals. When my daughter lists her family members her first room teacher is included on the list. Ms. Bev, the director of the school is outstanding: very helpful, supportive, and wonderful with the kids! As my older daughter has progressed up in the school the mixed age group model has helped her develop role model skills as well as how to interact with other kids she sees as her role model. The training of kids to be more self-reliant and motivated is a skill that is often overlooked but so valuable. The elementary option has presented her with many community opportunities including walks to the library, local parks, WSU museums and events. Guest specialists (novelists, scientists, computer programmers) are brought in to enrich the classroom. Ms. Sudha is great at getting the kiddos to challenge themselves and try new things while still empowering them to follow their interests. The week-long science camp is phenomenal and the recent addition of a science fair has gotten my kiddo over-the-mood excited. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could and would highly recommend the school.

Poor management with no accountability. Teachers don't have degrees and have limited teaching experience. Most teachers and parents are in hardship situations.

The best school we could have chosen for our kids. Worth every dime. They have thrived personally and academically and the teachers are like family.

Our daughter attended Montessori School of Pullman (MSP) from 2014-2017 Kindergarten - 2nd grade. She absolutely thrived in this learning environment. Her teachers were amazing and challenged her to her full potential within the classroom. Pullman,WA is very lucky to have this school within its community and allows parents another alternative to standard education. As a former parent of a student who attended MSP, I would highly recommend this school to families as the learning environment is exceptional!

I have a pre-schooler & a 1st grader. We have been in the toddler program, the Pre-K, and the Elementary. All programs are outstanding. My children love to learn. The teachers are dedicated, Montessori trained, smart, diverse, innovative, and caring.

My children have been attending this school for two years, and my oldest is finishing up their first year in the new elementary program. I can't say enough great things about this school. The teachers have truly have a gift for working with young children. The teachers are patient, kind, transparent, and caring. They communicate with parents regularly - sometimes on a daily basis if you desire that type of communication. The children model the teachers' behavior in the classroom; they respect their classmates, their environment, and their work materials. You really have to witness a classroom there to believe it - 2 and 3 year olds work quietly with ambient sound in the background. If and when problems arise (which, in my experience, are rare at this school), the teachers work with parents and staff to ensure that the issues are resolved. The school communicates clearly and openly with parents and children. My children love going to school and would rather be there than at extracurricular activities. We especially appreciate the incorporation of daily French lessons and music instruction into the classroom, which is typical of Montessori schools. Finally, there is a strong sense of community at this school among the families.
