The faculty and staff are caring and nurturing. Parent community is excellent. We feel extremely lucky to be here.

Terrible, my child was recommended for iep and special ed classes. I countless times and they kept recommending me a myriad of times. The law had stated that the principal has to honor the parent/guardians decision to whether or not put the child in these specie ed, or other programs. I, and our family has been entrenched in pain, politics, and racism that my son has received throughout his time at Valley View. It’s hard to achieve such endeavors if your constantly being stressed. Even as a parent, knowing that your child is not given the proper attention is a factor of why so many students fail, commit suicide, and is discouraged by such people etc... From the description of my child, it’s was hard to establish a good rapport with other students, as teachers not not thrive to teach students how to get along, and teach core values to students. It’s a total nightmare for those parents. Don’t fall for this school’s traps. I don’t recommend this school.

I agree that the curriculum design and academic program is good, but overall, the school is very politics and many teachers and staffs are not nice. My child’s two-year-experience is in valley view elementary school is a nightmare for our family. School documents of my child show that our child has been unfair treated. We were so upset and disappointed with not only the school, but the whole educational system. Is this an American school?

Caring principal, good teachers who are passionate about teaching and very involved PTA. My two children are very happy in this school. The academic program is challenging without merely "teaching to the test."

A good school overall, starting from the top with the principal. She knows the children by name and is accessible to parents. She runs the school well and the curriculum is modified every year based on new resources and ideas. Class sizes are good (high teens), and kids in Special Ed are integrated into the regular classroom for certain classes, allowing them to be part of the larger school community. The reading program is tailored to each child such that kids in the same class are not pushed/held back because other kids are reading at different levels. The reading specialist works with children with similar reading skills in groups of 2-3 to enhance their skills. Teaching staff is a mix of veterans and newer members. The PTA is an integral part of the school and many parents are active in the school. The school has a before and after school program, but there are no other organized activities/clubs for the kids outside of the school day. The after-care allows time for homework, and the kids play the rest of the time.
