My child attended Bella Vista since he was in TK. All his teachers have been phenomenal. My child was challenged to go above and beyond. High expectations were set for him. This school has a functioning Student Council where students are active in leadership and have a voice in what events occur. My son was a part of this committee and had opportunities to present to other classes. The PTA is very active and academic achievement is recognized in the lower grades for learning their letters, sounds, rainbow words, and math facts. I would like to see student achievement highlighted more in the upper grades to spur them on to achieve in middle school. I am more than satisfied that my child attended Bella Vista Elementary.

So far we have had a positive experience. We are enrolled in the Mandarin Dual Immersion program and are very impressed with the quality of teachers this school has. The principal is extremely responsive to parents and any concerns that we have. I really appreciate the school spirit and community involvement especially during distance learning when it is easy to disconnect from campus life. Bella Vista has held so many events, including holiday drive thrus, teacher appreciation drive-thrus, mothers day hike, etc. My child feels connected even when not physically there. Pre Covid, we really enjoyed the Movie Nights and Family fun night. We have been offered ample opportunities to engage such as the Ribbon Reading Challenge, Mobile Library, and the Dragon Juniors after-school STEAM program. We are given communication through Class Dojo which is a nice and convenient way to create our Dragon Community and see updates including the Student of the Month pictures, Kinder readers, and Math Master accomplishments. Kudos to Dr. Hardaway for fostering this community and being a true leader during the pandemic.

The teachers have been great. However, given the lack of community and school spirit, I am looking at better school options.

I rate this school one star to let other parent's know their not alone and to speak out. It's "NOT OK" to be ignored when something is wrong. Iv'e given 100% effort in backing the school with big PTA sales. Even though I have had several unfair eperiences.

My daughter had a terrible elementary experience with staff teachers including the principal. She always came home crying with stress telling me staff and teacher where mean to her. She told me the worse was when the teachers made them run so many laps around the field that her legs would hurt the next day. This was done if they were misbehaving in any way daily. The teachers told the kids all year how great a last day of school pool party was, only to be held against them, especially the last weeks that she is not going each time they felt it was useful tactic for discipline. My daughter had never had any problems with any the teachers of any other school and never came home crying as much as she did with this school. I am only putting this rating up for other parents to know and hopefully we have enough people coming forward and rate the school we can give a children a voice through the parents.
