It definitely could've been worse. I think a lot of it has more to do with the attitudes in the community and fr parents than anything the school itself can really fix.

Honestly, there are some incredible teachers here at GCHS. However, there are also some absolutely HORRIBLE teachers as well. Our overall test scores are reflective of some sad realities in the classrooms here. The principal, though very nice, does not manage his staff of teachers well at all! That being said, if a student is motivated, he/she can rise above, move out upon graduation and move on. Yes, it will be a bit difficult as they will be a little behind academically. But the fact is, motivated students with support from home can do well regardless of a school system that is lacking. GCHS has a lot of room for improvement. There are perks to a small town too, such as greater opportunity for your children to take on leadership roles etc...so, there are some silver linings to this sad little district.

Very small townish. The school encompasses a wide variety of students, with plenty of aspiring kids enrolled. People have said that this school is a piece of trash and that the program is poorly set up, but as a student, I am here to put those rumors to rest: yes, it does have a limited course with teachers stretched thin, but if one actually tries to do well, he can easily rise to the top and learn whatever he wishes. They have to learn to first excert some energy and devotion to his/her studies, and then they will find that they will quickly reap the satisfying reward of the knowledge they aspired for.
