Love this school and its principal Mrs. Tucker, she is a great leader! Also teachers and staff, i feel that we took a great decision when moving to here and been zoned for this amazing public school, they are caring and take pride in the work they do with the kids there..My family and me are blessed to be part of this big family at GLES!

They put the rudest most incompetent teachers and staff in the front office and at car pool, but luckily the actual teachers are good. My son’s kindergarten teach is phenomenal. They really need to figure out their carpool situation. I see them dragging kids and keeping them sitting out in the hot sun constantly, and the staff in charge are constantly yelling at the parents when all they are doing it trying to get their children. My child was told he couldn’t fill up his water bottle for over 2 hours on the first day of school while waiting in car line, and I arrived over an hour and a half before school let out. So almost 4 hours to get my child. They need to figure out a solution.

Wonderful school. This is the first year of my twins being in this school. I only have positive experience with the teachers and after school program teachers. My kids are in 1st grade, Must say it was not easy beginning but how the time passed the kids showed growing and learning is so much fun.Everyone is so polite and helpful. I hope second grade will be great learning year and fun year as well.

Poor, and we’ve only been going for a month... but hey, if your kid is already at genius levels and doesn’t need a teacher for help, then this is a great school

9/10. It’s not perfect but no school will be. I would highly recommend it and still have kids going there.

My son has been going to Grassy Lake since Kindergarten . He is now in 5th grade. He has always needed extra help in behavior aspect of school. Grassy Lake has always helped and communicated with me about his learning disability. He has had a great education and has great self worth because of Grassy Lake. It has been a great experience for my son and me.

Lies, lies, and more lies...If your child is already a genius, this is the school for you (just like any other school), however, if you are sending a child to learn, positively shape their life, and become an upstanding community member, this is definitely not the school for you. Teachers are not dedicated to teaching and have absolutely no interest in a child's future and admins are poorly trained, rude, and only there to protect each other and school's reputation. I'm surprised that Lake County School Board has not looked into all parent complaints...or, may be, admins never report them. A lot goes on in this school and most of it is swept under the rug. Some of these teachers do not even like kids but they are allowed to teach them. If you are parent of a child at this school, you already know how rudely teachers talk to kids. Their yelling and screaming could be heard from outside the school. When you go talk to them about a teacher's behavior or something negative your child has experienced, they deny anything bad has ever happened at their school. They'll always tell you there's something wrong with you or your child. They are robots and they all have been programmed with the same message; to deny any wrongdoing at all cost and protect the school even if it means you blame it on a student. I guess truth hurts, that's why they stick to lies. When it comes to taking money from you, they are definitely "Number 1." Fundraising after fundraising after fundraising...that's all they know and do.

Personally, I have had more problems that it was worth sending my child to this school. The teachers are not genuine about helping children improve their academic and personal life. Administrators are a joke. My child did not learn much and teachers didn't seem to care. When brought the child's progress to teachers' attention, they never took any responsibility. It makes a big difference when a teacher cares and genuinely strive to help kids who are falling behind. If your child every gets into any bullying situation, they'll always protect their employees instead of finding solutions. Bullying is a major problem at this school but it is swept under the rug. They blatantly deny they have a bullying problem. Denial will only put this school in a bad situation one day. I had to pull my child and move her to a different school.

My child has attended Grassy Lake from kindergarten to 5th grade. Teachers have focused on her and how to help her succeed. She has had art, science lab, tech lab, media, and PE since kindergarten. Also, music her first two years, but the teacher passed away and finding a certified music teacher didn't happen. But their is an afterschool chorus program for k-3 and an in school chorus for 4-5.There is little teacher turn over in the school. The school has been rated an A or B every year. She has been challenged academically and I feel she is leaving well prepared for middle school.

My children have attended Grassy Lake for the past four years. I have only good things to say about the school. The teachers all seem to genuinely care about students and the admin runs the school like a well-oiled machine. This is important as they deal with the new growth surrounding it.My oldest is in fifth grade and is in STEAM, Art Club, and Tech Club. The Art Night they hold every Spring is our favorite event. The art teacher, does a wonderful job showcasing all the art the students worked on throughout the year and has free art activities for families to create together. I also appreciate all the little extras they do - spelling bee, Tropicana speech contest, Dr Suess parade, holiday celebrations, fun run, field day, etc.Overall, just a great school.

I love this school. My daughter has been there from K-2nd. She has excelled in every subject. Teachers and staff have all been very friendly and welcoming. Front office staff is amazing. My younger child will be starting Kindergarten there this fall. I would recommend this school to everyone! Best in the area!

My family and I recently relocated to Florida to give ourselves a better life and more opportunities my child had no choice but to be enrolled in this school it's only been 1 month since school started and my child has came home twice with headlice I believe the school is nasty and the people who work in it are in denial before we relocated my child never had headlice and since she's been at Grassy lakes she's had it twice in one month.....I treated it she was given a clean bill of health I was reassured they check EACH child's head EVERY Friday well clearly that's a LIE IF that were the truth my child wouldn't have had headlice twice with full grown headlice bugs within two weeks from being treated the last time at this school I'm doing my part at home as the parent they need to do their part as a clean and sterilizing staff.....I think that school is is denial and a bunch of liars and I have a paper towel full of dead headlice full grown bugs to prove it.....my advice to parents is check your children's hair for live cuz grassy lakes staff say they do but CLEARLY THEY DO NOT......In the process of trying to get my child moved to another school there is definitely a epidemic with headlice going on in that school and it is disgusting.

This school had the nastiest and rudest people in the office and the teachers are not very nice either . Maybe the office people ought to learn how to speak to people and how to treat them
