Both of my children attended this high school. One graduated early and went on to graduate from a great private college with ease. The other graduated and attended another well-regarded university out-of-state. One of my children was very naturally "gifted" as a student and easily made their way through. The other struggled in math. The school went out of its way to provide learning to proficiency instead of just giving them a low grade and moving on. The policy allowed them to maintain a good GPA and get into college despite struggling a bit. This is the true meaning of education. Each of my students received an individual approach and achieved their goals. Both are now gainfully employed, happy individuals.

This school is a literal joke. They do NOT prepare you for college whatsoever. The guidance counselor’s do not take their jobs seriously and encourage you to apply to colleges that are way above student’s standards. Most kids end up staying in state, and settle for UVM or Castleton. Either that, or they don’t continue on to college. The grading should be more strict, as there is a retake policy. This school does not push you enough and it’s easy to slide through with good grades. Always an “A” and a “B” test for students in classes, based on their learning ability. Those with the B test get their hands held through anything and everything. They need to start taking things more seriously, especially the guidance counselors. A school that has students with so much potential, and it just crushes you dreams and motivations. It did not prepare me for my college career AT ALL. Good thing my parents pushed me at home, because this school certainly did not.

As a parent of a recent graduate and a couple more soon to be graduates I have been very pleased with my children's education. Most of the teachers truly care about the children and are available to them. Additionally many teachers go beyond to push kids to challenge themselves. Milton may not have the best reputation but I have to say that a less than stellar reputation is not deserved. In recent years graduates have been accepted to top notch colleges along with many accolades in the arts and athletics. .

Worst school, 80% of the teachers just don't care, and they drive on edge kids to drop out. I went there, and never knew what it was like to love to learn until I left for Essex.
