  Yes, Bynum is a great school for special needs children, but they do not tell you everything you need to know before you pay the ridiculous application fee. You don't get that back no matter how much you need it. I worked for a business school where the Director only cared about getting the money. Whether the student was mentally capable was irrelevant. Seems ti me Bynum only cares about the money. Federally funded with public donations, yet only parents with a lot of money...not paycheck to paycheck...need apply. ...More Reviews

  While this school is an excellent program it isn't affordable for everyone. There is a $275 non-refundable application fee, that I didn't find on the website. The grant, at most, covers $9500 leaving a monthly cost of $425 plus another $200 fee the first month. I applied in March, expressed concerns about the cost, was reassured that they had lots of sponsors so no child should have to worry. I didn't get a final answer until the week before school started in August that I needed to pay $625 to get started. I explained that was more than I could afford, that there was some miscommunication. I was told rudely that if I didn't want this, there are plenty of kids who would love to come to the school. Yea, us too. Because of the time to process and the misunderstanding I'm out $275 my family could use and had to scramble to get my son into another school after the semester already started.
